2015...
All her life, Myra Farrow has been obsessed with medieval castle-and the kings and princes who once inhabited them. When Steve Bernard, a wealthy videogame designer offers her to model for a princess character in his new game, Myra can't resist his offer to enter the mysterious, colourless, and cursed Hue Castle. But unknown to Myra, her soul is bound to it by blood and sorcery. When she enters the castle's doors, she awakens dark powers, time travelling through a cursed mirror, torturing her present, and rewriting her future, leaving Steve Bernard with millions of questions.

1415...
Edward Hue, the last of the Hue royal bloodline, has never stood in the sunshine, nor felt the rain, or held a living flower. Cursed from birth to live in darkness and bring death to all he touches, he is at the mercy of his cruel, tyrannical father King Stefan, who will not rest until he shatters Edward's soul and makes his son into a diabolical copy of himself. Edward's one hope is the mysterious woman, who walks into his life through a cursed mirror, out of his dreams, and introduces love.

Will Myra break Edward's curse and bring him out of the darkness, or destroy him utterly? Will Steve ever be able to finish his game without Myra? Past and future collide in a tale of love, obsession, betrayal, and the hope for redemption.

History, art and literature are my passions. I love digging out information about prophecies, divine miracles, and paranormal events that are mentioned in history and holy books but don’t sound possible in today's modern world.

Since childhood, I have been into reading and writing—and yes, it can’t happen without imagination, which luckily has no boundaries. Dance and music are also pastimes I enjoy, as well as reading romance fiction. I love to travel and explore historical cities.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat!?

Romance & Retelling & a little glimpse of Fantasy, with beautiful story-telling.
emotional, surprising, intriguing & easy read. not as roller-coaster as book 3 (I loved that book!) but their romance advancing & it was sweet; with jealousy, struggling, friendship, fighting & drama.
I really like this series. I've got used to the characters & their conflicts, & interested in their fates of what will happen to them. (I said it in book 1, but liked to say it once more) I also loved it that it's kind of a retelling within the retelling; the history repeats itself sort of thing.

more revelation from the past (more past than usual!)
more sweet characters! (Awwww, James!)

the present is more interesting. & I like Steve again!
& I sometimes got so mad at the characters I wanted to hit them in the head! why the hell would you say that!? or do that!?
even after witnessing that the curse is slowly breaking?
I guess they're all Romance drama. so I'm cool.

I sensed this would come in the end & it was surprising when it hit! after all that sweet moments & dramas & that foreboding telling that haunting us since book 3 & again, reminding us, but I swear if this man getting his chance, I would... I don't know what I would do, but plsssssssssss! not this!
now all I can do is wait for the last book. *finger crossed*

I have been a fan of Samreen Ahsan's writing and this series since the beginning. There is something magical about the setting and the story that draws the reader in. This series is a modern day retelling of the Beauty and the Beast. The story jumps between two times, one set in 1415 and the other in modern day 2015. I absolutely love how Samreen has chosen to name each book in the series giving us a hint of what is to come. There is so much meaning behind each title which becomes clear as you read the book.

This book is the fourth in the series picking up where the third book ends. In this book we follow Myra as she navigates the court and her life with Edward. She has brought some light into his life and some parts of the curse seems to be broken. On the other hand we follow her as she deals with the king and his attentions. In parallel to this, we follow Steve as he finds a way to explain Myra's disappearance and his budding relationship with childhood friend who is also a police officer and involved in the investigation into Myra's disappearance.

At some parts, it feels as though this book is just building on the existing feelings and settings. The rebuilding of the relationship between Edward and his niece is beautiful to read about. Myra is like a breath of fresh air and brings joy to everyone she is around. She is also a strong independent woman whose opinions stand out and thus she has to be careful in front of whom she expresses this. In a time when women are meant to be quiet, seen and not heard and definitely not stand up for themselves, she is unique and out of place. As she reads more about the Hue dynasty and the past, it's origins, she is worried that history might repeat itself thus setting her and Edward apart.

What remains to be seen is whether Edward will stand up for what he wants and believes in. Will he stand up for love? Will the king force Myra to marry him? With so many questions arising from the ending where the author threw us a curve ball, I am looking forward to the next book which will conclude the story and the series! This is a wonderful read and I recommend it for fans of romance, retellings, time travel and fantasy fiction.

Final Score - 4.5 What the Heck Stars!!!

I'm going to need a minute to process this one. Review to come ...

Unlike before, I am now totally confused! With all the fiber of my being, I abhorred King Stefan but that ending has me questioning my initial gut reaction to him! There's no doubt that man is slimy and sinister to the T - but he's no longer my main worry at the moment. And that ending! I'm all twisted up...

This book took me some time - some parts were slow to form and I just couldn't grasp what was taking so long to move it all along - but I didn't give up. I actually slowed down. Sometimes I even re-read chapters to ensure that I was reading things correctly. It helped. And things are slowly but surely coming together. We finally have a grasp of who the mysterious Jasmine is, but not so much as to who she is in relation to Myra. I'm hoping that the finale will answer ALL these questions. I'm so eager for it.

This book is captivating ( once the story moves along ), and when you get sucked in - your in it until the end! This 4th book of the series will definitely leave you with more questions then answers but I've been here since the beginning and can't wait for it ALL to be revealed.

This is the fourth book in the series and I would strongly recommend reading the books in order as, each book starts from where the last one finished.

I’ve been captivated by Myra and Edward’s love story since the beginning. It’s a beautiful yet heartbreaking tale.

I’m glad the next book will conclude their story because it feels like it’s dragging on too much. I’m dying to know whether Edward will take a leap of faith and trust in his love or will he lose Myra forever?

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*

I first stumbled across this book in 2015 when it wasn’t finished yet. Awe. Samreen is one of the best, if not the best, authors I’ve ever read imo. I’m not one too read books a lot but I’ve been with this series for 7 years if I haven’t already stated how much appreciation I hold for this book series and it’s writer. Ever since I was captivated by the “A Silent Prayer” series in 2017, I haven’t never one regretted reading a Samreen book in fact it’s the main reason am still using the (wattpad) app. Ha! #wattpad2022 . It’s just wonders what true inspiration the one behind pen and paper provides for the eager.
Currently I’m reading [chosen]. I hope for the best in the outcome of Myra, Edward, and the gang.

I personally think the first two books were the best. I believe there is not too much happening in this book.
Other books contain something addictive to them but this book lost it. It is a good book but not as good as the other three#wattpad2022

This book has left me more confused than ever (in a good way). Just as I think that my questions are being answered more mysteries come about. Can't wait to see if all my theories are true or what kind of plot twists this series will have. Lobe this series ❤ #wattpad2022
