We saw alil of Emmaline in her brothers book Last time now it’s her turn. She’s been having a hard time since her sisters death she has little sleep and her heart hurts. She’s trying to make friends at her new work and let’s her brother recommend the bar since his best friend owns it and it’s been few years since Emm seen Theo. She’s had a crush on him but knows things can’t happen but when there at the bar and the so called friends blurp out she’s never been kiss this has Theo near her and his own promise is broken in wanting her. Theo lorddddd he’s everything you want in a man he’s charming growling and just a gentleman and once he kissed Emm there no going back. He’s also her shoulder to cry on when she explains the grief she’s bottling up I love that… there is tiny drama about the brother finding out and I’m glad it wasn’t to harsh.
These brothers gotta stop being hypocrites lol but glad they worked it out. 🥰🥰🥰 I think we get a small snip of a couple and a lighthouse!!!

He’s got a dirty mouth, and I love it.
He also really enjoys praising his ‘precious girl’, and cuddling with her.
This was short and sweet and had just enough sexiness to keep it interesting.

Preface
Brother’s best friend is just such a good trope. I adore it. There just is… a forbidden aspect to it, that is low-stakes and high stakes at the same time, heightening my involvement. Plus, all the pinning, the knowing each other through the years really ties into what I love most about romance: learning things about each other no one else know. Of course, this a trope that has its unholy sides, such as when the best friend is a complete fuck boy knowing that the young sister likes him.
Nope.
Hate that.
/Blame it on the Tequila/ had none of that, thankfully. There was a slight age gap of 16 years (lol slight), which made sense to why the hero had to meet the heroine later when she was 21 for feelings to start to develop. She was a child the last time they met, it would have been inappropriate at all for him to have felt something.
It was a good book. Quite steamy. Bonus points for the H being an awkward sweetheart. Some drama broke out pertaining to the heroine’s brother finding out… which was kind of silly. If your best-friend is such a heathen, that you would not allow them to date your sister, than why are hanging around them? 🤨
Good thing some sense came about the brother once he found out they were ✨in love✨.

I found this book through my Hope Ford obsession I currently am managing and thought “why not try another author for fun?”
Well this was a filthy good time. Was it sweet? Yes but it was definitely more smutty than saccharine.
Was there a plot? Nope, not really.
This author revved up every sex scene and doubled down on how much screwing these two could accomplish in around 100 pages.
I will read more.

Love this author! She always writes such intensely emotional, steamy stories that bring the swoon! This one is was an age gap/brothers best friend/little sister trope and it was ooey gooey delicious!
Totally safe. Celibate hero for years and no details on his past. Totally innocent heroine who gives the hero the gift of claiming all her firsts for himself. No others, no cheating or abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue 10 years out.

This book was short, dirty talk, Brothers best friend Romance, Age Gap, Your mine trope, steamy. a bit kinky with small hair pulling and also a wee bit of Spanking, a bit of outdoor play in the bar and a happy ending.. These books are wrote by different authors in this series.. [ i would give this book 4.5 starts because it was a sweet romance]
This book Follows Theo and Emmaline's story.. I have to say that i enjoyed this book a lot and i am looking forward to the rest of the book in the series.. Each book follows a different couple in the series..

I like the strong family relationship between Emmaline and her brother Reed because you can see how much they love each other and also how much they want to look out for each other which i think is so sweet.. I also liked the strong friendship between Theo and Emmaline because they have know each other for years and they are now taking the next step to being in a relationship and you could see how much they love each other and always look out for each other..
I really enjoyed the relationship between Theo and Emmaline.. The characters are so awesome and the romance was really good too.. Its nice to see that everything worked out and they got a happy ending.. It was nice to see Grant and Ginny's characters from book 1 at the end of this book when Theo and Emmaline was having a party

Emmaline is mourning the loss of her sister and dealing with her alcoholic mother. Needing to get out of South Dakota she heads to Northern California where her crush Theo lives. Theo is 16 years older than her and her brother Reed’s best friend. Reed suspects that Emmaline is having a hard time adjusting and making friends so he asks Theo to keep an eye on her. When a stunning woman walks into the bar Theo owns he’s shocked to see its Emmaline. He hasn’t seen her in years and can’t believe that’s the same sweet little girl he watched out for. Their attraction is instant. Her obnoxious friends spill her secret of never being kissed and Theo asks to be her first kiss. And oh boy what a kiss! Their sexy times are hot and plentiful. They are both feeling the love but before Theo can tell her Reed shows up. A little drama with shouting and Reed slapping Theo. Not good with conflict Emmaline tries to escape down the fire escape and falls. Reed sees how much Theo really loves her and apologizes to them both. I love yous, more sexy times in the empty bar, and lots of ‘good girl’ and other praise. Epilogue ten years later at their anniversary get together. You’re told they have three kids and are still very happy together.
Good quick story, liked both characters. Didn’t like Reed slapping Theo, seemed so out of character for him. Would have been better if they just got in each other’s face and yelled.

I love yous, more sexy times in the empty bar, and lots of ‘good girl’ and other praise. Epilogue ten years later at their anniversary get together. You’re told they have three kids and are still very happy together.
Good quick story, liked both characters. Didn’t like Reed slapping Theo, seemed so out of character for him. Would have been better if they just got in each other’s face and yelled.

Fucking hell, Cameron Hart. You’re incredible. Her description of grief, and the final line “It becomes one part of our story instead of the sole focus.” That’s so beautiful and poignant. I didn’t expect something like this from this little book; to perfectly encompass the grief I’ve felt for a few years now. Wow.
I read this back-to-back with another in the On the Rocks series and I can already tell I’m addicted. Short stories doesn’t necessarily mean short on details, short on romance, or short on dialogue. Hart proves that over an over with the depth of their characters, the swoon-worthiness of their scenes, and the beautiful depth of their writing.
Theo wants love, and to look out for the little girl who loved him unconditionally years ago and still loves him to this day. Sure, attraction sparks in between them from the get-go but what keeps Theo invested is how decisively giving and devoted Emmaline is as a person.
Emmaline wants passion, and to help ease the black hole within her after her sister’s death. Theo supports her, protects her, and fuels the powerful individual he sees taking root.
Love does more for people then provides them with a new partner, it gives you family and it helps you heal. This book is littered with truly genuine indications of love. Not just obsession or possessiveness, there’s devotion, loyalty, trust, and genuine positive pride between Theo and Emmaline.
Also this book was just HOT in so many ways.
Just obsessed with this series and can’t wait to binge read them all.

I received this as an arc from the author and I’m voluntarily leaving my honest review.
This was an amazing brother’s best friend/ age gap romance. I loved this story, it was so well written and it had just the right pace, fast but not rushed. Emmaline and Theo had off the charts awesome chemistry and they were so steamy together. I loved that the story had both a great storyline and high levels of steam.
The story was connected to Secret Desire and it set up the upcoming book Protected by my Roommate very well. I really love stories that are connected to other stories but can be read as a standalone and this is one of those.

Emma line and Theo’s love story made me want to swoon (if only I knew how to do that). Their chemistry is sizzling, hot!
The epilogue pulls together all the characters from the in On the Rocks series. I started with this book, but I will be reading them all! You also get the whiff of a new story with one of Theo’s army buddies, which I want to read RIGHT NOW!

Sweet true love
Oh my goodness I adore Theo and Emmaline!!! I'm just sure how these two could complete and compliment each other more. This book is filled with sugary sweet but red hot 🔥 as well. I don't know how Cameron Hart packs such steps into the characters. But for a short read it packs all the emotions. I was on pins and needles for this book something about a brothers best friend/forbidden love along with man who see what he wants and makes it happen talk about swoon!!

Definitely a winner!
Theo and Emmaline we're great together. I was glad to get Emmaline's story, she's Reeds little sister, much younger sister. Theo has been Reeds best friend forever and therefore much older than her. Regardless of any age gap, this story is written so well that the reader can just feel how perfectly they fit together. Meant to be. A good love story
Enjoyed reading the love story between Emmaline and Theo, her brother's best friend. Theo is also sixteen years older than her. Age didn't matter to them. Their feelings grew but they were afraid of what her brother would say and do. It was fun reading about his bar, how she was shy and not thrilled with her job and their dates. The down side was the death of her sister. Overall it's a good book. Hope you will enjoy it as much as I have. Written by Cindy :)

Blame it on the Tequila makes a great addition to the On the Rocks series by Cameron Hart. This story is full of charm, friendship, romance, and drama. Theo is Emmaline’s brother best friend. They have known each other for years and reconnect when Emmaline moves to where Theo works and lives. I love how the author has really emotionally connected characters which add to this enjoyable read. I think Emmaline and Theo make an adorable couple. Their trust with one another really adds to their friendship, their relationship, and this story.

Theo is a childhood friend aka her brothers best friend and 16 years older 😉 She had a crush on Theo since she was a kid and now they finally meet again. Such a good story! Can you call it insta-love if they've known each other for years? I say yes in this case. Emmaline is such a sweet lady with a pure and beautiful heart. Theo is one of her brother Reed's best friends and is a lot older than she is. When they meet again after 6 years it is love at first sight. I loved this story. I loved the glimpses we got of Emmaline in Secret Desire and am so happy we got her story. I've enjoyed this series so much.

This was such a steamy book! I absolutely loved it - I couldn’t put it down! Theo and Emmaline were perfect for each other! Theo couldn’t figure out why he felt so possessive of Em until he actually touched her. Then, he KNEW that she was the woman for him. Em has crushed on Theo since she was 10, so the fact that he was paying any attention to her made her happy.
Once they kissed though, they both felt like they belonged together. I would definitely recommend this book to everyone!

I received this book in advance for a voluntary honest review. Theo and Emma have off the charts chemistry. Emma is the little sister of Theo’s best friend, Reed. Halfway across the country, Emma now lives in Theo’s town, so Reed asks him to look out for her. Problem is, once he lays eyes on the woman that is Emma, the best friend code goes down with a shot of tequila. Sweet, romantic, tragic and steamy. Awesome book, finished in one sitting.

Now she is all grown up and walking into his bar. Theo is brought to his knees by his best friend's little sister. There is no way he can bear letting her go, no matter how mad her brother, might be.
