So I remember this trial back in the show when I watched it a while back and I wish is was animated as fluid and raw as it was depicted in the novel I mean even knowing most of what was about to go down I felt a true sense of tension. Not to mention this really starts to not only show viole’s strengths but also that the presence of his beating heart isn’t fully dismantled just yet. Also let me just point out how bad*ss they make all the rankers in this series I mean this baseball kid was literally the juxtaposition of adorable/approachable and dangerous/unhanded and it was executed excellently through his own character arc as well. I really hope we get to see him show up once again down the line, maybe even as an ally this time around.

The Prey is easily one of my favorite arcs because it's when Viole's heart starts to shift back. Also, AA's first appearance with the girl scout uniform will always have a special place in my heart😌🥵

This is the volume that reintroduces my Khun. It's also the volume in which he wears the girl's scout outfit and tricks Dan into joining his team with that traitorous snake, Rachel. It's not one of my favourite even though it has Bam and it introduces Ran as well. why? because Rachel exists and she's pretending to be the little princess of the team. yes yes. Khun and Ran know. but to imagine that my poor Khun has been climbing the tower with her instead of Bam while also mourning Bam ...so sad.
it's also not my favourite because the test for Bam and his new team was long and tedious, and I'll never get over the death we experience there. unfortunately the anime didn't do it justice. in the actual chapters I could hear Wangnan's screams and pain.
