Let me just say that this is one of the best books I have ever read. This book made me shed tears without reading anything sad. The book does not contain sad stories, but rather, happy stories. As a matter of fact, as I was reading, I often found myself smiling at some parts. This book really moved me. It made me realize the things that I should know by now. Well, I am greatly affected with this book. I have read it for... Uh. Not sure. Maybe seven times already. Whenever I feel bad, I just grab this book and it instantly puts me in a good vibes. Best book ever. I so love this book.
Okay. First of all, I'm an agnostic, not an atheist. Learn the difference. Yes, I am a crazy fan of science but I believe in Him (whoever He is). So please, enough with the "why are you reading that?! I thought you said you didn't believe in God." I have a very profound understanding of the creation. I even have my own theory. Let's stop judging, holy people. I love Bo Sanchez. His words are divine. He admits that he's just human. He admits that he isn't holy. He is just a humble inhabitant of this universe. And I loved how he talked about all his wrongdoings in this book.
Accept who you are. Stop caring about what other people think of you. Always do good. Always be moral. Always. Always. Always.
the very first bo sanchez' book that i bought. a very inspirational book that captured me in a funny way. my journey to being closer to God started here.
I just love Bo. After this book, it felt like Bo and I were longtime friends who haven’t met in 10 years and are updating each other through letters.
He was like the uncle I never had who would tell me stories after stories that would make me laugh so hard i’d get tired and sleep like a baby (Don’t get me wrong, I have lots of uncles, just not like Bo lol). This book became my go-to book to lift my spirits up and make me laugh.
After 10 years (or longer probably), his stories still makes me giggle just recallng them.
A realistic compilation of thoughts and life insights written by a profound and happy man. That is to describe this book in a sentence.
First things first. The writing. Bo Sanchez’ writing is conventional. Simple yet fun. He has this story-telling ability where he could take readers to take part in the story itself. It is engaging and definitely amusing. The wise choice of adverbs and adjectives used for descriptions are to take note for, especially for an aspiring writer. But honestly, this kind of writing is okay, for me at least. It’s accessible and I can see people, who are not fond of reading, that will--in no doubt--read this.
There are no characters in the story since it’s just a compilation of articles that he wrote since he started writing. Nevertheless, he still managed to compile it in a way that is not repetitive and has a smooth flow in terms of topic transitions.
What wowed me with this book is the amount of quotable phrases and sentences. Really! Bo has a knack of creating memorable quotes and thus urging you to share it to others, to your friends or on social media.
I have one complaint though. Throughout the articles, Bo conveyed that some particular times in his life, he was able to talk to God. Like literally, a “talk”. He claims that God responds to his questions and pleas. And this response somehow made him decide what to do with his life thus making him happy because he ‘is in the right path’. Personally, I think it would have been better if the last article he wrote was about “How To Get A Response from God” or something alike for that matter. It would have been a solid climax, wouldn’t you think?
Overall, this is a feel good book for people out there who want to seek happiness in everyday undertakings. God bless everyone!
