This detective is bringing the handcuffs—and the bite. When Brandy finds herself accidentally mated to a werewolf, she’s totally cool with it. If only Detective Gruff felt the same way. The man is so darned scared he runs away to a remote cabin in the woods. Lucky for him, Brandy isn’t about to give up. Billy never wanted to get hitched. He’d seen firsthand with his parents how ugly it could get. He never counted on meeting Brandy, a feisty nurse with a bubbly outlook on life who looks past his grumpy facade. It isn’t just danger that brings them together. She is temptation itself. When she’s taken from him, he realizes he’ll do anything, even unleash the big bad wolf, to save her.
Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .
I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, the kind who like to abduct humans and then drive them insane...with pleasure. Or do you like something a little darker, more serious? Then check out my cyborgs whose battle with humanity have captivated readers worldwide.
I got about 54% in before I DNF . I got tired of the MC telling the FMC that he doesn't want to be with her. She keeps trying to convince him he that he wants her. I can't normalize chasing a guy who says he doesn't want you. I know they end up together in the end. I just don't like how they get there.
I enjoy all of Eve Langlais books just not this one.

Heather's Notes I did not care for this story. Billie was fine, but Brandy was a bit much. She actually stalked him. It was not funny, it was kind of pathetic. If it had been the other way around, the police may have been called. In fact, that is kind of what Clive did to her, so she should have known better. However, it is now done, and I will have to think about continuing the series or not.
BIG, BAD GRUFF, book 2 of BIG CITY LYCANS, by Eve Langlais When Brandy finds herself accidentally mated to a werewolf, she’s totally cool with it. If only Detective Gruff felt the same way, but the man is so darned scared he runs away to a remote cabin in the woods.
Good think Brandy is one sassy gal who refuses to take no for an answer. Push and pull between Brandy and Billy is hilarious, funny, sweet, super, super sexy, and outrageous. The surprising twist at the end took me by surprise. Eve Langlais has a wicked sense of humor.
Eve Langlais seldom disappoints me. I’m loving this series. Brandy is an awesome female lead. It’s nice to see a female fully capable of taking care of herself, but still not to the point of zero vulnerability. She was a perfect match for Billy. Anyone else would likely have given up the first time he ran away. I thoroughly enjoyed this book from start to finish. Can’t wait to start the next and see what happens with Ulric and poor little Froufrou. Lol
The characters in this book were so interesting and so determined to live the life they thought they wanted. Officer Gruff is determined to stay a single unattached wolf shifter, while nurse Brandy is determined to get him to change his mind. When danger comes to town, Gruff's only thought was to disappear and hope danger follows him. I truly love this author's imagination, whit, sense of humor and ability to bring the characters to life.
Good book. I enjoyed listening to this book. I like how gruff Billie is and how Brandy always stayed positive. She’s perfect to deal with Billie’s grouchiness and him fighting their attraction. She just keeps pushing forward with her interest in him. The mystery of who’s targeting them was interesting and kept me guessing. Non stop action and I enjoyed their fun banter. This is a good light hearted story with a good plot and lovable characters.
Big, Bad Gruff is the second title in the Big City Lycans series… and what a delightful couple these two turned out to be! Talk about grumpy and sunshine!
Between shaking my head at some of Brandy’s antics, and laughing out loud at Billy’s attitude, well, this story turned out to be quite the workout. *grins* Somehow, one feisty, stubborn, upbeat attitude human finds herself mated to one very grumpy, attitude-filled, never gonna settle down with a mate kind of wolf. The laughter, the steaminess, and the danger begin for a couple that technically shouldn’t work together, but in reality, they are the perfect foils and mates for each other. It just takes a bit of time and danger for Billy to get an attitude adjustment.
I don’t even want to mention the plot because if you go in cold on this one, you’ll enjoy it all the more for the surprises that await you. I. Had. A. Blast. This story is everything that I read Eve Langlais’ stories for… for a very long time now. If you love a story with complete opposites, a definite danger, a lot of laughter, and one perky heroine, and one total grump of a hero… then you’ll love it, too.
She was in a small town most of the single men were her friends or like brothers to her one night she was closing up being nurse she heard a new and a up kept man thin and UN washed came in give it to me we don't have drugs here she said he lunged at her and slammed her head on the desk then he grab her and pinned her to the wall by her throat she thought she was going to die then she kneed him in the crown jewels he let go and she scrambled what to use she grabbed her chair and startled swinging at him and then kept going he fell and dropped what to do then rang the detective he came he was hot she wanted to do things to him hmmm
from the blatant "I'm going to get with this man no matter how many times he says no" attitude from Brandy, the weird waffling Billy does, and the 100% crazy, wild, very strange and sudden paranormal aspects, this was not for me. also I could never have the courage to take what I've learned from a werewolf romance and say it to an actual werewolf as if it were true. (not that this would ever happen, but hypotheticals)
I kind of hate how interesting the next one seems lol it's making me want to read it
Gruff may have a phobia of relationships. But his future mate would not let that stop her from getting her WolfMan. Entertaining book. There could have been some little improvements which is why I did not give it perfect score as par for ones I read by author. Looking forward to others in series.
This was pretty bad. Like fun and I can't turn away, but bad. I didn't like the main characters at all, found their relationship unrealistic, hated how the main woman kept chasing the man after he keeps telling her he's not interested, and how he clearly needs some therapy. I am glad this was so short.
Laughs and love. I absolutely loved reading this one too. Loved the characters and storyline so much. I wouldn’t have guessed that the threat was… Brandy and Billy were a great duo. They fought the enemies quite well. Now to Ulric and Dr. Iris’ story. 😊😊😊😊😊💜💜💜💜💜🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Ah, the reluctant to love man, how utterly wonderous it is when they fall! This was a perfect push and pull between the characters, with Billy falling a little more with each push. Our mystery to be solved drives our story, but our couple is all the focus <3
Eve Langlais is one of the funniest paranormal writers in the business. She tells an interesting story and never takes herself or her characters too seriously. Funny and funny. Loved it!
I love Eve Langlais. I was thrilled with the characters in this one. It wasn't quite as laugh out loud funny as some of her books, but still a great romp. If you enjoy sexy werewolves, with no worries about kids, this series is (probably) for you.
Well written as usual and stands alone within this series. Steamy insta-attraction shifter/lycan/human paranormal romance, with lots of dramatic action, some lighthearted scenes and adventure. 3.5 stars.
