This will be beautiful and helpful to others, but if I have to read about how God is gonna fix me one more time, my religiously traumatized ass is gonna lose it.
Nope. Definitely not it for me. It got to a point where k started skimming the pages before reading and if I saw the word God, I wouldn’t even bother reading that poem.
Hell nah. I’m not religious. Sorry but I’m not reading about how I need God to help me in my relationships. Nope.
Alexandra Vasiliu (AV) offers a beautiful psychospiritual poetry read that can heal and sooth the ache of loss, especially loss of romantic love. Very useful to read a few poems before bed, helps the mind relax and let go. Offers hope for transformation of grief and rage into something healthier and sustainable.
If you are an atheist, when AV occasionally uses "God" or "The Lord" occasionally, don't let it back you up. Just translate into "The Universe," "HIGHER POWER," "The Angels or Ancestors" or any other useful term, even the QUANTUM FIELD works. It's worth it. God has been so badly tainted over the years, but ultimately GOD = GOOD ORDERLY DIRECTION. We live in a participatory universe - it's truly alive. Each of us is part of this amazing field of energy. The energy goes by 10,000 names. Relax and love these poems to reach a new soft, healthier place in your healing heart💙
Letting go is essential to emotional and physical health. The practice of letting go is an art. So it is fitting that Vasiliu chose the art of free verse to enlighten us on letting go. She gives us the what, how, and why of just how beneficial letting go can be. Each poem is an encouragement to the soul. My only negative comment is that in several of the poems she adds God as a resource for having the power to let go. While this may be an inspiration for some, for others it is a roadblock. i highly recommend this book as an addition to your journey of self-realization.
This book is beautiful. Evry wword fills you and teaches you a lesson. the way that they talk about letting go of something or someone is painful and beautiful at the same time. This book touched me like 3 months after I read it. When I bought this book I loved every little single word that was in it but I couldn't relate. I thought I will never be able to but when the nect eevents in my life happened I found myself reading this book to learn and try to gain some clarity from it. The way that I craved to read it again when I could relate was so weird but exiting at the same time. Looking forward to read more of Alexandra vasiliu
There was a great deal of understanding when it comes to a wide range of emotions and how to process them in a way to encourage readers to allow themselves to heal and move on. I loved that about this collection. The only aspect I was missing was the imagination that some of my favorite poets use to describe their emotions in a relative, visual kind of way, but then I realized that wasn’t the point of these. This collection was meant for healing and processing changes in relationships or life in general and I think that it did a great job in just that.
I appreciate the subject matter. Toxic relationships can leave festering wounds that metastasize in storage and painful ways. Little things evoke memories of past loves and we find ourselves mourning lives that could have been.
Unfortunately this book doesn’t really evoke these issues. It instead reads like a collection of Christian Hallmark cards bound together. Platitudes and calls to trust in God offer no real insight into the human condition and certainly do not afford us a chance to grow.
Dare To Let Go is a great inspiring poetry book for people who are struggling with life, and wanting to change their life slowly by healing and finding theirselves. This book really inspired me because it really helped me rethink about my life, and the way I think of my life. The author redirects people's mindset during hard times. Through many hardships, this book can teach and help you understand how to let go of the past, the toxic relationships, the hard times, struggles, etc. I greatly recommend this poetry to people who need internal and emotional support in their lives.
Who knew that a book of poetry could be so captivating and inspirational, connecting you to your soul and helping you discover yourself. This book is a simple yet powerful read that transcends negative emotions, teaching you about life, love, loss, and more. If you're seeking self-discovery through poetry, this story is perfect for you and I highly recommend it if you're looking for change in a dark phase of life.
I think the idea and meaning of the book are wonderful, I’m new to poetry and this reading journey didn’t excited me as much as I thought it would. I find some poems to be a little bit rushed and repetitive. Also didn’t enjoy the presence of god and praying that much, but that is my personal taste, maybe for other people that are more into religion that is gonna be great. However, some poems are really good.
This book is touching and beautiful, but having read it as a person who doesn’t believe in God, there are lots of passages I don’t agree with. I believe that our lives are within our hands, we are the protagonists in our life and not the puppets of god.
Meh - was hoping for a similar read to "You'll find yourself again" - this is like the knock off lame version. More so just seemed like a bunch of words spaced out on a page than poems or passages.
Also didn't realize it was religious !!! Not for me.
I loved this collection of poems - it was exactly what I needed to hear. With that being said, there is an emphasis on God so I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who is looking for something agnostic.
This was okay. Some poems spoke to me but not that powerful as well as the message in so many of them were the same. I agree with other comments. I am not big on God fixing things for me. The overall book was not powerful to me
i solely finished this book for the yearly reading challenge. as much as it wanted to be an emotional self help book, all it did was tell me to pray. and the poetry was just overall not good
