Annabelle McCormack writes historical romantic fiction and contemporary romance packed with sprawling adventures, epic love, and soulmates who just can’t stay away from each other (even when the world is falling apart). If there’s a sweeping love story with high stakes and deep emotions, she’s probably writing it—or at least dreaming about it while chasing down her next cup of coffee.

When she’s not wrangling words, she’s wrangling five home-schooled kids, a couple of dogs, and an unreasonable amount of books in Maryland. If life had more hours (and less laundry), she’d be traveling, painting, or becoming a professional pastry chef. For now, she’s content with baking, reading, lifting heavy things at the gym, and plotting her next great escape—er, novel.

I took a little book reviewing hiatus, but I just realized this was one I definitely wanted to review. This finished out our summer reading program, and the final prompt was a book of your choice. Naturally I chose the Annabelle McCormack book I was waiting to read! I started on ebook but then received my very own copy for my collection for most of the read. While I enjoy a book in all formats, nothing compares to the feel of the actual book to hold and read. Thank you for my gift! 💝 I now own all Annabelle McCormack’s books that she has published, and I will be rereading them all! ☺️

I loved the Windswept Saga and didn’t want it to end! It was tough not to rush through it, yet I wanted to know how it would end. The characters were so enjoyable, along with the thoroughly researched and well-written storyline. I have one character I’ve loved since the beginning, but I won’t spoil who that is since this is the third and final book. All three books were so beautifully written, with stunning covers, including the prequel novella.

Annabelle is an auto read author for me.

This third book which finishes Noah and Ginger’s saga runs from 1917-1922 and was my favorite in the series. I actually listened to this book (thanks to @hoopladigital ). The narration was excellent - totally captivated my attention.

This book has action, romance, family drama (think the most manipulative sister ever), and settings in both England and Egypt.

It talks a little about Egyptian antiquities which was a nice addition. There are shipwrecks, and life altering events that change the courses for many of the characters.

If you haven’t read the two previous books in the series, that’s ok. My memory is crappy so the author does a nice job of refreshing the reader of past book events throughout the read so you won’t feel lost. I will wager that after you read WHISPER IN THE TEMPEST you will want to go back and get all the scoop from the previous two books.

December, 1917: British war nurse Ginger Whitman escaped to Malta with her husband, disgraced intelligence officer Noah Benson, certain nothing could ever draw them back to Egypt. But when an urgent matter forces them to board the HMT Aragon, the unthinkable strikes: the Aragon is torpedoed, plunging Ginger and Noah into the chaos of separation and the path of their enemies.

Amid the uncertainty and danger posed by formidable obstacles, Ginger and Noah’s journey back to each other is fraught with peril, testing their strength and unwavering resolve. Will they overcome the odds and reunite, or will their love be forever lost in the tempestuous winds of war?

This is the final book in the series and I am extremely disappointed - that this is the final book 😢 I have so enjoyed Noah and Ginger’s story - I could not put it down, again! Is Noah still alive? If so, will he be able clear his name? Will they get back together? Can their love survive what they have both been through? The story will have you on the edge of your seat - in one hand, you want to read ahead to see what happens. In the other hand, you do not want it to end! I feel like getting the books out and binge reading them all again! I love the backdrop of the Middle East during the Great War and of course the romance - Annabelle has written this story so well - thank you 🙏

You will be immersed into a “gripping tale of resilience, epic love, friendship, and the indomitable human spirit in the thrilling third installment of the Windswept WWI Saga”. Highly recommended this book and the whole series - you will not be disappointed 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The last in the Ginger and Noah saga, and this ending to the series does not disappoint. The author did such an amazing job with ending this novel with everything these characters went through. Jack really makes more of an appearance and I was elated to get to know his character a little more but Ginger and Noah cannot ever have it easy. Noah still bound to prove his innocence, Ginger wanting nothing more than to start a life with her husband while working to obtain more knowledge to possibly become a doctor and yet danger just seems to follow at every turn of events. There was a lot of emotion in this novel. Heartbreak, sadness, hope, anger, grief and you felt all of it right along with the characters while this storyline get torpedoed, twists and turns. I was so excited to finish out this series and am sad that it is over - although I feel there could be a few spin offs to give us stories from some other characters that played a larger role in this novel. Thank you to Suzy Approved Book Tours for the invite and to the author for the complementary novel. This review is of my own opinion and accord.

Whisper in the Temptest is the third book in the Windswept WWl Saga. Don't worry if you have not read the previous two books because this book can be read as a standalone. I am positive once you read it, you will want to dive into the first two.

This book is my favorite of the series. The characters are well developed and Ginger is my favorite. She is a strong independent woman in love with disgraced intelligence officer Noah. A tragedy separates them and Ginger doesn't know if Noah is alive. Both must navigate the perils of events and politics to find their way back to one another.

I haven't read anything about the Middle East theater during the Great War and found it very interesting. Anabelle keeps us guessing with this story and I didn't want the story to end. I enjoyed the ending and I am hoping we see a book with Jack's story next.

Thank you for the author and suzy approved book tours for the book and this is my honest review.

I’m so grateful to be a part of the tour for this #TheWindsweptSaga series revolving around one of my favorite main characters ever, Ginger, a British nurse. Set during World War I, #WhisperInTheTempest is the third and sadly last novel in this saga.

Ginger’s immediately thrown into another plight of uncertainty, adventure & intensity while constantly showing the compassion I’ve come to love from her. Always with a little romance, this story is so well-written and can be read as a stand-alone. I hope
#AnnabelleMcCormack, who is one of my favorite writers of #historicalfiction, will give us more. I just loved this one & the entire series.

Thank you, Annabelle McCormack & @suzyapprovedbooktours for my #gifted autographed copy as well as the honor of including me on the #tour!! All opinions are my own.

ANNABELLE. THIS BOOK DID MY HEART SO MUCH TRAUMA BUT ALSO GAVE IT SO MUCH JOY. I LOVED THIS ONE. I do not like love triangles BUT THIS ONE WAS HEARTWRENCHING AND SO WELL WRITTEN. Again with book full of love, suspense, action, intrigue, depth. Obsessed. And I even started enjoying Ginger’s sister Lucy and their mother. I couldn’t stand either of them before, but both were given redeeming storylines. PLEASE TELL ME I WILL GET MORE OF GINGER AND NOAH AND JACK. I LOVE THIS SERIES SO MUCH.

For my closed door friends, this is not closed door, but scenes are tactfully written and easily skipped if you don’t want to read them. And there are not many in the story.

I absolutely love the Windswept series and I’m so sad it’s the last book in the series, I’m going to miss the characters but I did feel this book wrapped up the series beautifully.
It’s 1917 and we find our main characters Ginger and Noah called in for an urgent matter, they find themselves sailing from Malta on the HMT Aragon, when suddenly there torpedoed and in the chaos Noah and Ginger are separated . The path to finding each-other again is filled with enemies and danger, which tests their strength and finds them overcoming obstacles, but their love for eachother will not stop them in in the eye of war.

I was so excited to get back with Ginger, Noah and Jack. I really wanted the reign of terror of Stephen to come to an end. I loathe him!

This book just had me turning pages! I don't want to reveal much but the 3 MC really go through it. In ways, what happens at the end is so right for two of them but it still broke my heart for the other. What happens isn't an easy situation to have been found in but all do the best they can in the circumstances.

Perfect to have read the acknowledgements at the end to know that more Windswept Saga is coming in a different time period.

Whisper in the Tempest is the third novel in the Windswept WWI Saga, set in the Middle Eastern theater of the Great War.

This was such a fantastic conclusion to this EPIC Saga Trilogy.

This story is set in December 1917. When an urgent matter forces Ginger and Noah Benson to sail from Malta on the HMT Aragon, the unthinkable strikes: the Aragon is torpedoed—and Ginger and Noah are separated.

There is action, romance, spies, family drama.

So much to love about this book about the Great War.

I am sorry to see this series end but absolutely LOVED how it ended!

great series set in the neglected a middle Eastern theater of the Great War

Great characters and story line with a lot of important overlooked history mixed in.

Here we find the Balfour Declaration and further betrayals of the Arab peoples by Great Britain and France presented as they occurred without commentary.

These events lead directly to the present day horrors in Israel, Gaza and the West Bank.

I am a big fan of The Windswept Saga, however, the only fault I have with this book is that it felt rushed. It was an interesting take on a story that could very much have happened back then. But I could not get over this feeling that it was rushed and therefore only a 4 stars review from me. I will always treasure this saga, it has a permanent place in my bookshelf. Highly recommend for anyone interested in this time period.

Didn't like as much as the previous books, but still definitely worth the listen. Your heart weeps for the pain of these characters. This is in 4 parts and during after 1 and 2 I wondered where it was going and got a little worried. By the time I got to part 4 I had a difficult time pulling myself away for things like sleep. Looking forward to Jack's HEA because he goes through the fire in this book too.

A well-written conclusion to The Windswept Saga with a perfect ending to the story of Noah and Ginger, set in the Mediterranean in WWI. Fans of the first two books in this series will love this novel which has all the intrigue, adventure and romance of the earlier novels with an intrepid heroine and her indomitable husband.

This series will tear your heart apart and frustrate you so much. But it’s also so good!
I adore Malta so seeing that setting made me so happy, even if it was brief. And everything in Egypt, England, Jerusalem…the characters go all over and their journeys…
I don’t want to give much away, but I loved this series.
I hope a certain man-don’t wanna give anything away-gets his own series now!

I just absolutely love this series. I'm so invested in the stories of Noah, Jack, and Ginger. I hope Annabelle McCormack continues this story... I want to see Jack get his happy ending and what other adventures these three can find themselves in. This author has delivered a wonderful combination of Lawrence of Arabia, Downton Abbey, and Indiana Jones... and I'm here for it.

I’ve been putting off reading this final book in the trilogy. I did find it a little disappointing compared to the other two books in the series. I’m not too sure why. Ginger Noah and Jack have their hands full but tragedy strikes and decisions have to be made on assumptions. Stephen is still very much a threat for Ginger. What a character he is and you really feel Gingers fear of him.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a rollercoaster! Even though the first book in the series was difficult to choke down, the second really gained momentum. The final book really draws you in and keeps your emotions in turmoil.

I'm excited to see the next books in the series... Jack deserves his HEA too!

Historical fiction is hard to pull off, and AM did a wonderful job with this series.

How could I not read the last in the series involving Ginger and Noah! Of course I wanted to know how this tangled spy filled love story ended…..and it did deliver! Many tense moments and some uncomfortable scenarios but well worth the anguish. An excellent read. Annabelle McCormack is a very engaging author

Probably my favorite of the trilogy because there was finally some believable action and suspense. But it all really became very convulted and too complicated. Also by the end I was really rooting for her to live happily ever after with Jack not Noah.

I felt like this was a really satisfying end to this trilogy. There was a lot of action and setting changes and I really like that in a historical fiction novel. If it is stuck in the same place, sometimes I struggle with those for some reason. I liked the character development and the connection back to the main character’s family. Plus the different types of love in this book are to die for!

I love this series and this author. It had a wide range of genres mixed in. There was action packed suspense, drama, romance, and the obvious historical element. It was so easy to fall back into this world and remember what happened during the last two books. The author does a great job weaving in the recaps of the major events without it being an information dump.

I was so frustrated with some of the events that separated Ginger and Noah and some during the separation. The frustration ended up being a good thing because I couldn’t put the book down. The connection between the characters and the hills they had to overcome was an emotional roller coaster. I wanted to be happy for the characters but getting both points of view knowing one decision changed the outcome made me want to shake the characters. I love Ginger and how she powers through adversity, just when you think she is in the clear something else happens that rattles her world. The ending was a great way to finish the series and I loved the authors note that followed.

Thank you @annabellemccormack and @suzyapprovedbooktours for the gifted copy.
