This was a fun, easy-to use reference. What I liked best was that it gave real-life case examples to illustrate how different elements of forensic science have been used to solve crimes. What I like least was that it was clearly a YA book, so it didn't go into too much depth. But it made a quick reference for proper terminology, and also offered websites and other books to do more in-depth investigation into what forensic science is.

This book was very informative. I am also reading this with another forensic case book and it has alot of the same cases. This was a super quick read, and has been on my bookshelf for years.

An excellent resource for a mystery writer. This is actually a YA book but I found it helpful in the direct and bottom-line way everything is explained.

I bought this book because i love CSI and NCIS - well, almost every crime scene investigation service series (gees, that was a long word!).
The book was very informative - now i know what stuff to use when building a bomb or making a fingerprint.
But i think the book was made for smaller people than me - you know, small kids, because some of the phrases in the book was something you would use in elementary school.
But again, very informative!

Good basic overview of the subject. Good index, illustrations, actual cases resolved, and snappy text explains the various approaches to applying forensic science techniques and instruments to case examples. Seems that it should work well for high school students considering taking an advanced degree in this field of specialization. Thus it provides prospective students of this field with some understanding of the profession.

I read this in 5th grade. It is all about CSIs or crime scene investigators. THe whole book is based on how real CSIs do their job and how it is done. I really liked it.

Very informative and interesting. My student handed me this book and said "You gotta read this!" There is a lot about forensic science that I didn't know.
