High school English teacher Erin Lancaster is stuck with the unwelcome job of filling in for the injured cheerleading coach, but she wants to back out when she discovers she has to be auctioned as a date during the annual spring fundraiser. She’s horrified to find her rock star crush Riley Schultz, former frontman of Spawn, will be playing emcee for the event, but she’s even more shocked that he also happens to be the highest bidder for her affections, and sparks ignite when she discovers that maybe their attraction is mutual.
Riley's been in the music business long enough to know that true love is not in the cards for him, but the cute blonde he's dropped a wad of cash on would be a welcome distraction during his vacation. He has no idea there's more to her than meets the eye.
Will one week together be enough for them to quell the flames, to enjoy everything but?
THE TANGLED WEB SERIES Tangled Web Everything But Barely Tattooed Seal All Exits
Jade C. Jamison writes steamy contemporary romance that’s full of heat, heartbreak, and hard rock. Known for emotionally raw rockstar romances, sizzling billionaire stories, and unforgettable second chances, Jade delivers passionate stories with fierce heroines and brooding heroes.
When she's not writing, she's jamming to metal, sipping strong coffee, or spoiling her pets and family. Whether set in small-town Colorado or on tour with a band, her books take readers on an intense, romantic ride—one story at a time.
Erin is an English teacher – in no way is she a cheerleading coach – but that is exactly what she is for a couple of months since the Coach has busted up her leg and is now in a cast from thigh to toe. Reluctantly agreeing to sub the team, their annual spring fundraiser is coming up and Erin, as the sub coach, is dragged into be auctioned off for a date too, much to her dismay. It’s one thing to be auctioned off but it’s another when Rockstar God Riley Schultz is presenting the auction, especially when Erin has a crush on him and as he’s the highest bid for Erin, earning himself a date with her.
Rockstar Riley has come back into town for a week or so, while his new album is being mixed. His mother – who is on the school committee – has volunteered Riley to be a part of the auction, and although he’d rather sit on his mothers couch watching DVD’s, when he spots Erin, he can’t take his eyes of her and so that’s why he’s the one to win a date with her…at $500!
I absolutely loved the sexual tension in the car on the way home from the date. Especially when Nine Inch Nails’ Closer came on the radio. Bloody love that song and oh my god, it was the perfect song for how Erin was feeling – all hot and bother, and I would have totally felt the same way too!
This story, in my opinion, is about two tormented souls who have been scorned by ex-lovers in the past. Spending the short time together, they both begin to feel something for the other, completely new and scary territory for the both of them as they don’t want it to end up like their previous relationships. They tackle some major issues during the days they spend together – Riley’s family included - and get to know one another, which makes them fall that little bit more for each other.
Since reading Tangled Web, I was so excited to read Riley’s story and this book was everything and more. Riley has been dragged through so much in his past, from drug taking, groupie sex, alcoholism and generally being a bad boy, but when he meets Erin, who is slightly conservative shall we say, and vows to be celibate after two crappy relationships, everything turns upside down for him and it was a nice change to see some feeling flair from Riley.
Although there is a part where he acts like a jackass, I could see the conflicting ways of his actions. He really liked Erin but didn’t know what she was after from him and so acting so out of character (to her) would make it easier for him to walk away. Hm big mistake there for him but whatever the outcome – from both their actions – they just can’t seem to stay away.
I now come onto the sex. Holy Jesus moley! Every sex scene had me wishing I was Erin, and I’d like to say – Riley can definitely handcuff me any day…I just need to find him first! I could feel the chemistry sizzling between them both and I loved the build-ups to each sex scene. There was so much passion I didn’t know what to do when I was reading it. I was getting flustered!
It has now totally turned out to be one of my favourite books. I was completely captivated by the storyline, especially how they were both afraid of love. Riley and Erin, albeit, seemed to go through so many rough patches during the week, finally came together at the end. I’m going to finish with a favourite part from the book:
Love Bad Boy, Rock Star Anything!!Read Tangled Web before. Gave 4 stars**** Only because it started off slow, but boy oh boy, when the story and romance between the English Teacher and Bad boy-Rock Star started picking up, I could not put it down. Great Read!!!
Riley made an appearance in the first Tangled Web story, as Johnny’s former friend and bandmate, and as Katie’s ex-boyfriend (long story). He didn’t come across as a very nice guy, so this story tells his story (and even his feelings about Katie and Johnny). In this one, he goes home to Winchester and meets Erin, a high school English teacher. Both have been hurt in past relationships and put a one week expiration date on their fling. Of course, their hearts have different ideas.
One of the things I liked most was when Erin lectured Riley's dad on why metal music was important to fans and even quoted Riley, driving home the truth of what she was saying.
I read this book years ago (but Amazon deleted all of my reviews and I lost this one!), and I recognized it as soon as I began. Even though I remembered most of it and knew how it would end, I still found it engaging and sweet. AND I still cried at the end. Loved this story!
I received this book by the Author for an honest review.
Erin is a high school English teacher and now finds herself the coach of the cheer leaders due to the current coaches leg injury. One of the cheerleaders fund raisers is an action where they auction themselves off for one date with the highest bidder. Erin is a little shocked when she finds out not only are the cheerleaders auctioned but so is the coach.
Riley Shultz is the hot rocker and former front man for Spawn who will emcee this auction fundraiser. Can you imagine Erin's surprise and well anyone who was a fan when they realized Riley was the emcee. Riley was in full rocker mode sine that is what everyone expected. Until he saw Erin, he decided he has going to wow her and not only bid on her but won the bid.
Erin was shocked that she even got a bidder but to be bought by Riley wow. The sexual tension was so strong between these two. If you want me to tell you everything was flowers and rainbows I cannot do that. These two had ups and downs. Both had pasts they were fighting to overcome and things would come up that would remind them of situations from the past. Neither wanted to admit they were falling for the other in the short span of a few days because they were afraid the other didn't feel the same. All this and lack of full communication played a Hugh roll in this.
I absolutely loved seeing the sweet gentle side to Riley that we didn't get to see in tangled web. I loved the duel pov you saw what Riley was thinking and going through and then what Erin was thinking and feeling. I felt like I was right there with them going throwing the emotions with them, happiness, heartache, and frustration, all of it.
Some of my favorite scenes the hotel (although cruel it was kind of funny), the BBQ at his parents’ house (classic I think I fell in love with Erin), the entire evening before he fixed her breakfast (saw an entirely different side of Riley).
Some of my Favorites:
“Oh, no, Erin, you’re not cheap. Not by a long shot. You’re so different from those women who throw themselves at guys like me. Not only are you intelligent and sweet and a million other things the typical woman who throws herself at me is not, you’re hot as hell.” He ventured forward, sliding his fingers just onto her hair, cupping her cheeks in his palms. “if you think you’re not somethin’ special, you’re dead wrong.”
“What if your mom comes back?” “What if she does? Nothing to see now.” She smiled as he led her to the little twin bed. “Just an innocent little snuggle with my girl.”
Title: EVERYTHING BUT Series: Tangled Web #2 Category /Genre: Contemporary Romance Recommended for: 18+ due to sexual content Received from: Jade C. Jamison in exchange for an honest review Grammar/editing: A – near perfect
This is the second book in the Tangled Web series. They do each stand on their own, but as always I recommend reading them in order.
Erin is filling in for the cheerleading coach and it’s time for the annual cheerleaders’ auction. Erin doesn’t know until the last minute that they will also be auctioning her too to the highest bidder for a date. She is thrilled and nervous to see that the emcee is Riley Schultz, former frontman for the rock band Spawn, “Metal God Extraordinaire,” and her personal fan-girl crush. When Riley walks off the stage and doesn’t host her auctioning, she is crushed, but then surprised when he makes the winning bid. What started as sparks is soon something neither wants to define. A vacation fling can’t be love – everything but, right? – Or can it?
Erin thinks that Riley is not Mr. Right, just Mr. Right-Now. A metal legend wouldn’t be interested in her for more than a one night… or one vacation tryst. Erin is so sure of inevitably being left behind that she fights the feelings that are so immediate and so explosive for both of them. Riley took one look at her and was drawn in. Even he’s not sure at first that it could be love. It’s happening too fast, but he never gives up in pursuing her. When he makes mistakes and he owns them. When she plots a little get-even, he appreciates the humor of it, and oh, my God what a scene!
I love Riley. I was rooting for him the whole way through.... well except for the hotel, but you know that's a girl thing. Erin gets him. So, I want his dog tags… and the handcuffs!
It’s no secret that I love Jade Jamison. As always, she has created an entertaining story with strong characters and unique humor.
Seal All Exits has released today (11.24.14), so I will be writing up that review and posting it soon, as well.
Jade C. Jamison never ceases to amaze me, all of her books are absolutely amazing! We all know Jade is known for her Rocker stories but each one is always different and she just draws you. Reading the Tangled Wed Series I couldn't put any of these books down. I was completely captivated by each and every one of these characters and their story. The best part was reading how it all fell together.
Everything But (Book 2) is about Riley and Erin. Riley was the lead singer for Spawn, the band that started in high school. They ended up going their own ways, but Riley started a new heavy metal band. Since they finished recording their first CD Riley was in his hometown visiting his family. Since Riley's mother was on the school board she nominated him to be the auctioneer at the high school's fundraising auction for the cheerleaders. This is where he first laid eyes on Erin. Erin was an english teacher at the high school and temporary cheer leading coach. Every year the cheerleaders auctioned themselves and their coach off for a date night to raise money for camp. Riley was determined to get to know Erin, he was fascinated by her, so he bid top dollar for their date night. Riley wanted do everything in his power to get Erin to want him just as bad as he wanted her. Erin couldn't believe how impressive Riley was, only she knew men couldn't be trusted. So Erin decided to let what happened between them continue only until his week in town was up. The only problem was that both Riley and Erin started feeling more and knew it would most likely lead to heartbreak. Especially with the school board making Erin choose between her career or love at the insistence of Riley's mother.
"When no one understands you I will. / When no one loves you, I will. / When your friends abandon you, / When your lover deserts you, / When your family despises you, / I will always be there." "Holy shit," Riley breathed beside her "those are my words" "Yeah... I Will Never Leave You." "I know...I wrote it."
I devoured this one!!! I enjoyed book one of this series but I absolutely LOVED book two!!! First let me say that the Deftones are one of my all time favorite bands and I would totally love to rip Riley's Deftones shirt right off his hot, hard, tattooed body and I do dirty, dirty things to him while listening to him singing from the stereo... Ahhhhhh ok fantasy over.. Back to the review... This book flowed so much better then book one. It all took place in the present but Riley still managed to touch upon his past relationship with Katie and his friendship with Johnny (from book one). It didn't make me like his less, in fact it made me understand him and like him much more. I loved that this book was in both Riley and Erin's POV because you got to know and understand both characters completely. I loved getting inside of Riley and learning there is SO much more behind his cocky rock star persona. There were moments in this book that had me on the edge of my seat, moments I found myself smiling like a fool and moments I found myself with a serious need to throw on some Deftones and ravish a hot rocker! Overall I can say I loved this book! I can't wait for more from this series!!!
A returning hometown boy turned rock god...a high school charity auction...the pretty young teacher who is more than she seems on the outside...longing glances and sensual touches...strip monopoly!...a couple of handcuffs...the fun never stops and underneath it all is the story of what happens when that one date with the unattainable wet dream becomes more than a one night stand. We met Riley in Tangled Web and the part he played in that book made him an unlikeable bad boy but I am so glad we got to see the flip side of him here...how he came to be and the man he is today far removed from his abusive and addictive past. Erin is a gorgeous woman like so many, just going through the motions of her boring, safe existence until Riley buys her in the auction and the rest as they say is history! Don't get me wrong...it's not all flowers and moonlight...hell no...this is a journey of ups and downs...hot, passionate sex and bitter disappointments...fighting the demons of addiction as well as the pressures of small town mentality that threatens the future happiness of our young couple. I really loved this book...became obsessed with what was going to happen next and how it would play out and I stayed up way past my bedtime to finish it. This book is an earlier, tamer version of the metal lifestyle to come in the BULLET series, but it is wild enough to get my blood pumping and the sex is "oh my god" delicious =) So happy I got this one...makes me want to re-read Bullet again now.
Erin has sworn off men. She's tired of dealing with their infidelities and being taken advantage off. Her degree didn't exactly get her the job she wanted, but it was something. Having sworn off men, never in a million years did she think a popular crush of hers would end up being her date for a cause.
Riley is a rock star. They last thing he is looking for is a relationship. He may be a carefree rocker, but he has feelings too. His past and relationship with his parents, has him not wanting to get into anything... until he sees Erin.
This book was amazing. I have a huge love for rocker books, and this book has me loving them even more! I felt bad for Riley because even though he can be arrogant, he is sweet. I admit, I did swoon a few times. I am so glad that they both fought for what they wanted. Also, and this is a big thing, I will NEVER look at the game Monopoly the same again! Not in a bad way though!
Jade has once again captured my attention with her awesome writing. From the very first page I couldn't wait to find out more! This is definitely a top favorite of mine now!!
Loved this book. I read the 1st book "Tangeled Web" and had to read this one. I like how we get to see into Riley's world since we heard about him in the 1st book. Riley is still the big rockstar but has to come back home to be the MC of a cheerleader auction for a good cause. He does it but he isn;t happy about it. He feels at least he could come home and see his family in the mean time. But a sexy English teacher gets his attention from the beginning and everything else is history. He had no chance to protect his heart from Ms. Lancaster.
Erin didn't want to fall for the "bad boy rocker" but felt she could enjoy him while she could. It was a typical love story where the other person doesn't really know how the other feels. You pull for both of the characters to just open their mouths and tell their feelings. It is a good book and I think this series could be very good. There looks to be at least two more books.
I received an A.R.C. of this book but that will not colour my review in any way. This story is from the Tangled Web series, but is easily read as a stand alone. It is an ADULT book not suitable for under 18 s. Riley Schultz is a bad boy rock star. He is home visiting his family for a week, when he is asked to emcee an event at his old school. Erin is the English teacher and is standing in for the cheerleader coach who has injured herself. The event is an auction, where the cheerleaders and their coach are on sale for an evening date, to be held in the school gym . This is to raise money for summer camp. Riley is a recovering addict, trying to come to terms with his family and his feelings. Both of them have been badly hurt in relationships and are afraid to get hurt again. This is an emotional read, with everyone trying to protect themselves. A lot of very hot sex scenes. Some humour.
A captivating read that had to be read in one sitting. Riley was an interesting character from the start, loved his humour and vulnerability.
Riley is a successful musician who has been fighting his demons for a few years and has returned to his hometown to visit his folks. Forcibly volunteered to play auctioneer at the local high school, he expects to endure the night until he spots the stand in cheerleading coach Erin Lancaster. The attraction between the two is intense but with Riley only in town for a few days they have to decide if the risk of developing feelings for each other is worth it.
I've been waiting for an author to get it right. You really can have two people with their own issues to work through that aren't ready for love but fall head first into it anyway. Two people CAN have inner struggles and demons from their past relationships to deal with not waste 100 pages miscommunicating and misunderstanding words or situations, I LOVED is book because it was more of the real and less of the book writer formula overdone! I would love to read about Riley and Erin on tour with the band, but in the meantime I'm going to consume everything else Jade Jamison has written!
I enjoyed this book very much. It was about an unlikely love match between a high school teacher, Erin and her college rock star crush, Riley.
I really liked the confused feelings of emotions that both were experiencing. It was very true to life. Neither wanted to be the first to declare their true feelings and silently wondered how the other really felt about them...until it was almost too late. Kept you wondering if Riley would fall back into his "safe" disfunctional ways, so he wouldn't have to risk his heart.
Rocker romance I'm a huge fan of Jade's I absolutely loved book one in the Tangled Webs series. Book 2 was absolutely mind blowing. Erin (a high school English teacher) and Riley (rock god) met up while engaging in a high school fund raising event. This page turning, rocking love story will bring you to your knees. Not knowing what to expect at the end I wasn't sure what the outcome would be. Another amazing read from Jade. 5/5 stars. Freakin love
Not as quick of a read as I had hoped but very good none the less. I loved the trouble and excitment of finding new, fresh love. Love always comes at the craziest time and in so many forms. More of a stand alone book then a second book of a series. There is some reference to the first book but not enough to derail the story if you had not read it.
I loved this book it had me on the edge of ma seat all the way through it. It made U think that they were jst goin to b a one night stand bt then it turned out different. I thought it was funny what she done to him in the hotel bt then I gt angry wen I thought he was goin to drink and see that other woman bt really happy with the ending :D :D xx
I liked book one in the series, but this one is even better. Bloody brilliant!!!!
Again Jade's writing had me sucked into the story, I couldn't stop until it was finished. Such a sweet ending from the sexy bad boy Riley, I'd love to read another book about Erin & Riley.
