IMPERSONATION, EVEN FOR THE NOBLEST OF MOTIVES, LEADS TO LIES...

Joanna is a pretty, young, and quite innocent nursemaid. For the sake of her charge--a boy she has raised with love--she plays along with his wealthy relatives who have mistaken her for the boy's widowed mother.

But Joanna is quite taken aback to learn that that lady's scandalous reputation is known all the way across the Indian Ocean!

She is even more perplexed to find herself falling helplessly, hopelessly in love with the boy's uncle, the handsome and arrogant Simon, Lord Arkwright.

But he'll never return her love. He believes Joanna to be his nephew's mother. Even worse, he believes she has stolen the family jewels....

Couldn't finish, it was so terrible. One of those old Skool romances with Instant Hate between the hero and heroine, leading them both to act like idiots.
