Great book about how to teach to different learning styles, while never losing sight of the fact that all people are a mix of learning styles. Advocates actually trying different activities and keeping a notebook of what works and what doesn't to determine style, rather than answering a list of questions about your child (you may not really know everything about your kid!) Fantastic chapters full of keyed activities broken out by topic on how to teach all the major topics you will cover in a homeschool. This is going to be heavily annotated and well-thumbed in the years to come.

I found this book both fun and encouraging. I appreciated her simple approach to understanding learning styles. Don't think too hard. Her focus is to encourage the teacher to try to incorporate a little bit of various styles- do some kinesthetic (hands on), auditory and visual activities so as to cover the spectrum. This book is packed full of practical ideas to teach each subject with a variety of activities that appeal to all styles. I can see myself coming back to this book again and again. Thankful it was at my local library.

Another excellent resource from Carol Barnier! Entertaining as her writing style may be, her techniques actually WORK. I've purchased this book for further use, along with her other books. The past few weeks have improved so much by implementing just a few of her ideas!

Borrowed this from a friend and ended up buying my own copy. I am trying many different methods working with my son, especially the spelling section. I also got the ditty cd. Great learning tools!
