The Call to an Intimate Fellowship with God is a “tool to guide and aid every believer with existing fellowship and intimacy with the Lord into a more profound experience.” These words, which I wholeheartedly agree with, are the author’s words. They are found in the introduction.
This book is well-written, providing a clear path into a deeper relationship with God. To highlight some twists and turns of a walk with God, the author shares some of his struggles as he walked his own path, as well as how God delivered him from those struggles.
Some of my favorite excerpts:

Altars are the meeting point between God and man. It is a place of communion between divinity and humanity. The altar of the day for believers is not a physical structure where we must go to pray. An altar is not in a specified place or a raised design in churches where we place the pulpit. Every believer's heart is the altar table, the throne of the Holy Spirit.

Many times, instead of trusting in God for grace, we rely on our ability to get things done for God. The result is always a disaster. May we learn to trust the Lord with all our hearts in all matters.

If we must develop intimacy with God, we must be willing to bow low. To grow, we must begin low. God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble.

Paul is a man of character, leadership, power, yet would not rely on his ability. He would rather glory in his weaknesses. As he once said, “For when I am weak, then I am strong.” If you will grow in your relationship with the Lord, be willing to become low, and God will fill you.

God's love is extravagant, and we can best describe it as reckless. Not in a negative sense, however. God is not reckless in Himself. But His love does not consider himself first. His passion for you and me depleted heaven. His love does not think whether he would lose or gain by offering His life as a sacrifice for you and me.

The sweetness which God's presence brings is infinitely more significant than any enjoyment or pleasures we can derive from anywhere else.
The highest privilege any mortal man could ever have, is to have God as his eternal possession. When you hungrily, diligently, and passionately seek God, to lay hold of Him and be sustained in an unbroken fellowship with Him, God becomes yours.

This author describes how we can have a more intimate relationship with God. He uses examples like Abraham, David, and Paul to give us practical steps we can take every day to draw closer to our heavenly Father. He warns us of the pitfalls that can hinder that relationship, and he uses his own life as a testimony of how we can turn our mistakes around.

This is a timely book. I read it at a point in my life when I was wondering how to deepen my relationship with God. Perfect for newly born again souls and anyone trying to find their way to—or back to—God. By giving examples of the apostles' way of life as it regards their relationship with Christ, Emmanuel shows—and not just tells—how we in this contemporary time can be closer to the Lord Jesus Christ. I recommend this work to any and every one.

These 138 pages resonated deeply with me and made me reflect upon my own journey. I like how the author opens each chapter with scripture and closes with a guided prayer. The author also weaves in his life experiences and the examples shared draw the reader into the conversation. After reading the 12 chapters, I felt called to have a more intimate fellowship with the Lord in my daily walk. Well written!
