On Roanoke Island, Ella meets Lacey Montauk, a fearless southern entrepreneur, and her two employees, twins Desiree and Tanqueray. "I believe we will hear a lot more from Alicia. She's definitely got what it takes. Who knows? She might be the next Beth Henley."-Americus Times-Recorder
I loved the book. I did find an error on page 35. Traveling from Atlanta, Georgia to the Outer Banks of North Carolina you do not drive thru Fayetteville, ARKANSAS. You would drive thru Fayetteville, NORTH CAROLINA. I look forward to reading more of Alicia's books.
This was just OK. Lots of info on the history of Roanoke Island, but not enough character development for me. Way too much time spent on Ella/Belle's backstory as well.
As usual, Alicia Lane Dutton, created a fun and entertaining book. I enjoyed the characters, storyline, and love story. I like that her love scenes are not smutty and graphic. Its a book you would not feel embarrassed in loaning to your daughter.
Liked the story and characters. The background info set up the events well. Would have rated it higher except the ending events seemed to quick and was lacking. I would still recommend this book.
The descriptions were clear and inspired. Out mad me anxious to visit the area. The writing was sometimes clumsy and innocuous. Overall, a enjoyable tale.
