As an independent cargo hauler operator, Daphne must maintain her ship to keep her income flowing. Balancing ship upgrades with cargo delivery payoffs is difficult on a good day. When two or more major systems need repairs, it can be a real struggle. She must spend her money wisely to make ends meet. When her jump drive and nav computer are on the brink, she tries to compromise on what to purchase to keep her business operating.
Pax runs a business selling parts and upgrades for cargo ships. He’s made a living for his family by selling the most popular products at the best price. It’s all he knows how to do. When his CEO demands that salespeople must sell at least one of their company’s most advanced and expensive nav computers per month or face termination, Pax knows he is doomed. That is until his installation expert suggests a not-so-ethical solution to his dilemma.
When Daphne and Pax meet, the situation becomes impossible. Then, when things hit rock bottom, it becomes worse. Suddenly their lives are entangled when they must stop Major Gura, a terrorist who possesses a device capable of destroying an entire planet, from carrying out his evil plans. The only missing piece to Major Gura’s plans is an advanced nav computer to guide his warhead!
But suspend disbelief while reading, because some of Daphne's adventures are a little implausible. The book is well-written and a fun read, although Rusty needs more page time. The body count is definitely high in this one, but there does seem to be a happy ending for at least one character.
I can't believe I paid the .99 cents for this. This writer needs to show some depth to the stories it was like a 7th grader wrote it. I guess I just expected more.
