Meriwether Lewis was an American explorer, soldier, and public administrator, best known for his role as the leader of the Lewis and Clark Expedition also known as the Corps of Discovery, with William Clark, whose mission was to explore the territory of the Louisiana Purchase.
Warning, this book is crazy long. It can also drag in parts. However, there are some very interesting stories about the men and woman who traveled across the great divide and back. I really enjoyed the book and found it very educational. Not something I would read again but it was a wonderful compilation of Captain Lewis's journals.
