R.E. Bond is a dark romance author from Tasmania, Australia. She is obsessed with reverse harem books, especially if they have m/m! She collects paperbacks as a hobby, has read or written every day since she started high school, and constantly needs music in her daily life. She loves camping and rodeos in the summer, and not getting out of bed in the winter. Coffee and books are life, and curse words are just sentence enhancers.
With the number of enemies growing, things in Dreary Shadows are unsafe for Lilith and her guys.
Yet, even with their hands full with adversaries, and despite the centuries they’ve had to mature, we still see character growth for each of the guys. We also see Lil learning more about her developing powers.
There’s still plenty to be wrapped up so I’m looking forward to the final installment of the series.

📣 Type: Dreary Shadows Part III is part of the Dreary Shadows series and ends on a cliffhanger. This series must be read in order.
Lilith has her Shadow Brothers back, and her two new vampires, Zeus and Gunnar, so things should be perfect. Except she's still human, there are other paranormals after her, and she can only tap into her witch powers when she's angry. When tragedy strikes, everything changes for Lilith and her men.
Much like book two, I struggled with this one. I wanted to love it, and parts of it I did, but overall it fell flat for me. The overarching plot is what has kept me returning because there's so much potential there. I even like the different relationships Lilith has. The problem is the pacing is off and the story is all over the place between the plot and relationships. Also, there's so much overuse of exclamation points that the characters come off juvenile and like they're yelling the whole time. I'm going to read part four when it's out because it's the last part. I'm just hoping it picks up and is edited a bit more than this one.
I only made it this far because of the MMCs. In part two I liked the introduction of Gunner. It was getting too Twilight there. The issue I have is that the characters are not growing. Gunner is the resident psycho but rather than turn into a lovable one, he's still off the rails. Its as though meeting Lilith didn't actually add anything to his psych. It's not dark it just makes his character bland and repetitive.
Okay let's be honest all their issues are repetitive.
Let's talk about Lilith. I didn't care for her attitude in book one, I kept getting close to a DNF but the MMCs pulled me back in. Thing is though, we now keep getting told how good and sweet and caring she is ..... Eeeermmmm this happened where? When?
Lilith has a built in radar for stupidity. I'd have said TSTL but it's too late for that. Or maybe she has a ash wish now (see what I did there).. Every single time she should use her common sense, she goes running in the other direction. Those poor wolves, probably her only link to humanity and she couldn't care less, it's just lip service. They almost die trying to protect her but she runs to the very beings trying to kill her....? Best friends or cannon fodder?
I know this is mean but I can understand why her mother (not that Victoria wins any awards) sent away her 17 year old daughter to live alone. She's not pleasant, unless it's about vampires, I suppose. A 17 year old with a massive chip on her shoulder that sounds a jaded miss know it all , who's lost the will to live.... Would totally want to spend time with her.... Not.
Now let's talk about how Chaos is a millennia old and the other racking in a few more each?????? We are talking them being close to vampire origins here yet they can't control their feeding? That they are being walked all over by vampires a few hundred years old... That is not how vampires work with age, they sound like fledglings themselves. I do suppose the book reads like a teen fantasy about vampires, so there is that.
I enjoyed Part 3 much more than part 2. While, we still are very unclear with what part Lilith plays in the witchy world, we know she is strong. Now with "things" having been changed, Lilith is no longer the meek prey everyone else thought she was. Shes ready to face her future head on, for however long that may be. With all of her guys by her side (and there are a lot, lol) the impossible seems possible.
This book had more story line, and I am curious to see how this ending will go! It was a definite page turner, and the ending was unexpected.
I would still very much like to get into more witchy things but am curious with what direction the author will take us. The steam is pretty hot and while that's always good, I would enjoy more actual romance within the characters. I'm looking forward to part 4. I don't know how this series will go, everything is so crazy but am enjoying the ride of it, for sure.
*Overall 4/5 *Heat? 4/5 *Fast Burn *MM in harem *Multiple first person POV *Fated mates/Blood Bonds *Ends on cliffhanger
The action and twists in this book were amazing! The storyline is addictive and all consuming. There's just enough amount of smut, story, character growth, and action to lose yourself in this world.
I am excited for the turn this series has taken with the plot in regards to Lilith and what she could possibly do with her abilities.
If you like strong FMCs, hot guys, good steam, lots of action, vampires & edge-of-seat anxiety...start this series asap!
You’d think that after 3 books, this series would start to feel repetitive or drag, but it absolutely doesn’t. I find myself on the edge of my seat every book, flying through the pages! I could keep reading new installments in this series forever!
Dreary Shadows Part Three by R.E. Bond is a paranormal reverse harem. This is the third book in the Dreary Shadows series.
I am loving this series and can't help but binge each book in one sitting. I really enjoyed getting Chaos, Emmett, Lilith, Gunnar, Cain, Sebastian, Zeus, and Lorenzo's points of views throughout the book.
If you are looking for a steamy paranormal romance, I would recommend this series.
As entertaining as Zeus and Gunner are I kinda wish Ezra and Blade were a part of it instead. Like the timing was perfect too, with Cain and the rest of them gone and all. Like if two more of them were to be added it might as well have been Ezra and Blade instead of two whole new characters. Also, I think them being werewolves would've also been interesting.
I'm happy to report that I enjoyed this third installment more than the second one! My biggest deterrent, my annoyance with Lilith's apparent lack of self preservation skills, was rectified in this one so we could finally focus more on her relationships with Sebastian, Lorenzo, and Zeus instead of her imminent death by blood loss! 🤣 We also got some more intense spicy scenes and some long awaited group scenes that I had been hoping for since book one! And while I enjoyed all of the spice we got, I do think that it slowed down the pacing of the story dramatically, meaning that there wasn't much if any progress made on the Victoria front. That being said there was progress in some other areas such as Lilith's powers, lots of relationship development, and character growth!
And even though I was expecting something crazy at the end given what I had read in the blurb, it did not come from who I was expecting and tbh it hurt, A LOT! I'm really not sure where we're gonna go from here but I'm hoping the next/final book will have a lot of action since there are still quite a few loose ends that need to be tied up! I'm also super excited for whatever story the author has planned next since she has told me that all of her paranormal stories will be taking place in the same world! My guess is that we'll be taking a trip to Gallows Bay to explore whatever led Pixie there to begin with; maybe get a nice throuple forming along the way! I'm also still very invested in getting a story about the first vamps cause they sound very powerful and dangerous so obviously I'm already in love with them! 👀😈
Dreary Shadows Part Threeby R.E. Bond picks up from wherePart Twoended. Through multi POVs, the story continues following the journey of Lilith, her guys and friends.
Once again the story continue to lead you on an adventure, one that had you going in through a maze, deeper and further considering the many twists and turn that came about. Reeling you in more with wanting to get all your answers, given the continuation of old and new mysteries being brought forward with secrets attached. Of which were still being alluded too, with only a few being divulged as the story progressed forward. With all that was going on, it had you questioning and second guessing the theories that revolved around Lilith and her guys. Trying to figure out and piece together the clues to complete the puzzle that was their story.
The premise behind the story is what kept me going, considering the focus on steam within the relationships seemed to become a little too much for me. Not to say it was a bad thing, since it was nice to see connections and bonds grow. However the fact that it took precedence over the exploration into the main plot line to the narrative IMO is ultimately what caused my attention to wane in those moments sometimes.
The cliffhanger R.E. Bond left us on definitely surprised me, coming completely out of left field with being so unexpected. It has me intrigued to see what will happen inDreary Shadows Part Fourand where R.E Bond will take the story.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Honestly, I cannot help but read these books in the matter of hours. They always suck me in and keep me entertained from page one. Part Three was no different. I could not stop turning the pages.
Lilith is coming into her powers and trying to gain full control of them. The guys are there every step of the way trying to help her adjust. There is still some growth with the guys too. Emmett is still trying to control his addiction, Gunner is learning that he can't just do whatever he wants whenever he wants, and Zeus has to work through a few things before fully giving in.
There are things happening that I thought may happen, but not when I expected them. When I opened the book, I was just waiting for sh** to hit the fan. Along with everything that Lilith is going through, there is quite a bit of spice. And it is SPICY.
I did not see the book ending like it did, I mean, I KNEW something was going to happen but not that. I can't wait to read Part Four and find out what happens next!!!
This book starts right where the second book ended and we get to see Lilith and her vampires trying to figure out what to do about Victoria.
There is a lot going on in this book! Lilith is struggling to control her abilities and how to balance all of her bonds to her guys. She is also dealing with some strain with her friendship with Ezra and Blade. Meanwhile, her guys are all trying to keep her safe and spend time with her but they’re finding it’s difficult to do either of those things when so many people are out to get Lilith and there are so many guys that she’s in a relationship with.
I greatly enjoy the banter between all the characters in this book! I find myself laughing quite often because they all have such great snarky remarks. The steam in this book was great! Cain and Chaos are still my favorites, though Emmett really stepped it up in this book. That cliffhanger had me shocked and I can’t wait for the next book! I definitely recommend this book if you like a great why choose paranormal romance book!
I have really enjoyed this series so far but R.E. Bond absolutely blew me away with this one! I felt all of the emotions when reading it- I laughed, I got choked up, and I was ready to throw my kindle with the brutal cliffhanger!
My favorite part was the relationship development happening in this book, especially with Chaos. Gunnar is still my favorite though because he is just such an off the wall character that brings so much fun to the story. And as usual, R.E. Bond really brought the spice with this one (holy group scenes batman 🥵)!
I really can not reiterate how crazy the ending was though. I’m not one to be super stressed by cliffhangers but I did not see the ending coming in anyway and I am dying to know how this is going to work itself out.
This series has been a joy to read thus far but this book has definitely been the most exciting and enjoyable so far. I’ll be impatiently waiting for book 4!
This book was great. I feel like I need to be vague so I don't write any spoilers. So here you go. The way book two ended, you can pick up in three easily. It's perfect. At least to me. Lilith and her men are trying to deal with her mother who has come back. With her being hunted now, and losing trust in people, everything seems to be getting out of hand for her. People are now being unworthy, while others are proving to Lil that she can trust them. While she's trying to stay alive, to me, it seems like everyone is trying to take her down and/or unlive her. The characters are still hot, steamy, and set your kindles on fire. The possessive men, the caring men, as I call it, and then you have Gunnar. He's a whole other breed. They all make this book so amazing. Now, will her mother out to unlive her, and others trying to do the same, Lil doesn't know she's going to make it out alive.
This story just keeps getting better and better! We are thrown right back into the story where part 2 left off and we see that Lilith has grown stronger and connected more with her men. The intensity of the story kicks up a notch and there is more emotional turmoil, angst, drama and suspense throughout that kept me riveted to my seat, biting my nails with anticipation and turning the pages quickly to see what the hell was going to happen next.
Lilith’s connection and chemistry with her men is even more delicious then before. The things they do, DAMN, so hot, so sexy and so titillating! It kept me squirming and needing to ease the ache these delicious men were creating in my lady parts.
It was a wild, thrilling and sexy ride that has left me on the edge of my seat not knowing how this story is going to conclude in part 4. That ending was a bit a whopper and left me reeling with unanswered questions.
If you haven't read this book, I highly recommend that you do! Start with part 1 first and if you are new to R.E Bond's books, I can PROMISE you that you will not be disappointed! R.E Bond really knows how to capture her followers in her books! She really brings her characters to life and you will feel like you are there with them!🖤
Excuse me. You had no right to make that book THAT GOD DAMN SPICY. I was melting every other page. Hands down the spiciest book I read this year and that is saying something because I have read alot of books. P.s. all of the mm action too is making me feel things I did not realise I could feel.
Anyway. Back to the story. Lilith is becoming a real badass B! I wasn't a huge fan of how weak she was in the previous books but she glowed up in this one 🙌 ALSO gunner??!! Hands down the funniest character I have ever read, I literally wet myself laughing at his absolute unhingedness. I can't believe we have to wait for the 4th book, i need to know everything now.
Wrapping things up, this is the best book in the series by far. And I couldn't believe it when it hit the end.. jaw dropping ending
Ahhh, I can't believe it ended like that?! I don't want to believe it, I can't!
So in part three of Dreary Shadows, we basically get more of everything. More steam, bonds, powers, twists, blood, and more hot MM action. My most favorite part was the focus on Lilith's relationships with each of her vamps. Them navigating the dynamics with eachother and new bonds forming was such fun. I enjoyed the push and pull banter between them as well, especially when it was pushing Lilith's buttons.
There's still a lot up in the air, and I can't even begin to guess where this is going. I love when a story is unpredictable! As always, I highly recommend this enjoyable, fast- paced, and high steam read!
This was literally a jaw-dropping ending and I cannot wait to see what RE Bond has in store for us.
Part 3 began where Part 2 left off and it was easy to dive right back in. I would say this book was much more character focused and the plot moved fairly slowly. In saying that, it was nice to get to know the characters and watch their connections grow.
I was surprised with how much I laughed. Let’s be honest, Gunnar and his antics are some of the best parts of the book. I like the others but he just has a special place in my heart.
This series has been a pleasant surprise and I know the ending is going to bittersweet. What was planned a duet became so much more and I think the author did a great job with this series.
Lilith must face betrayal from people who’s supposed to love her the most. With her mothers return at the end of book 2 we know that she is not the mother of the year.
Lilith is still struggling to learn her powers and navigate a castle full of crazy horny vampires. Each guy has their own quirk and brings something different to the story.
Cain, Chaos, Emmett, Sebastian, Lorenzo, Gunnar and Zeus need to learn to share Lilith but I think that’s going to take awhile with this bunch of vampires.
When you think it couldn’t get any worse, it does. A life is taken and nothing will be the same.
I can’t wait for the next and last book of this series! This series sucks you in and doesn’t let go!
This series. I can’t. I literally can’t. I used text to talk and listened to it on my drive to work. I probably looked like a crazy person because I’m yelling at fictional characters. I’m also snort laughing quite a bit in my car. But it’s whatever. I have no regrets. This book has a good amount of steam to round out the entire plot line and all the action and adventure that surrounds Lillith and her harem of sexy AF guys. The MM action is super 🥵🥵. Loved the multiple POV, loved the sudden of turn of events and the emotions from Zeus. You really feel for him. I can’t wait to see Lilith fully embrace her abilities and I’m so excited to see what happens in book 4.
Just when you think you can’t fall more in love, you do! These books get better and better as they go! Watching Lil and her vamps grow is so fun. You see more of their quirks come out and the relationships come together. They’re funny AF and the way they all vibe together is amazing. I laughed so much during this book. And the spice?! Definitely amped it up a ton, which there was already a lot prior so it’s evvverything. As someone who was never into PNR, these books are perfect. I’ve fallen in love with 7 vamps now. So so good. That ending though… my goodness. Didn’t see that coming at all! Already counting down to book 4!
Ahhhhhh Bond WTF!!! Y’all the cliffhanger is brutal!! I am seriously obsessed with the brood of vamps and our wolf friends. There is so much to say but I’d give it away so instead I’ll say this was so well done and some of the mens grew so much it’s exciting. Some are still psychos that can’t help themselves lol. I absolutely love all the characters and how much Lil learned and flourished in her environment. She became stronger and more connected to her men and I really, really, really hope there is a scene with her and Gunnar in book 4!!! Oh that will be EPIC! You don’t want to miss out on Part Three!
Why Choose Psycho Possessive Men Vampires Werewolf Shifters Witches Betrayal & More
So I had to do a reread of the first two books but I honestly had forgotten so much! Of course, Gunnar is still my favorite man lol. I love how unhinged and crazy he is. How blunt and unapologetic he is. It makes for great entertainment in between all the drama and betrayal that is books two and 3! I feel like each book just gets progressively crazier, spicier, and more dramatic. I am honestly scared for what is to come in book 4, especially after that cliffhanger!
If you loved the last two books you will honestly not be able to put down book 3. If you haven't read this series yet you need to get on it right away!
I'm so hooked on Lilith and her group of Vampires. The emotional side of some of these characters after a pivotal moment in the storyline was heartbreaking. I love how their individual personalities are so distinct, which is such a big task considering how many guys there are. I never saw myself getting back into my paranormal romance phase again, but this story completely hooked me. I'm excited to see how this story ends in the final book after this cliffhanger.
If PNR isn't your thing then go check out THE WATCH ME BURN SERIES by this author. It is seriously one of my favorites and I have read it multiple times.
Wow…lots happened in Dreary Shadows Part 3 (DS, P3)!! I don’t want to spoil anything for future readers so it hard to comment on what happened but I will say DS, P3 was intense, fast paced, and ended with a bang (cliffhanger)! DS, P3 is filled with so much action, twists, turns, surprises, angst, drama, all the feels, and so much heat!! Readers will not want to put it down that’s for sure. R.E. Bond, author, did a fantastic job with capturing my attention and holding it till the very end. I didn’t even know I reached the end till I turned the last page and saw “to be continued…” I highly recommend Dreary Shadows Part 3, Dreary Shadows series, and R.E. Bond as an author!! Happy Reading 📖!!
