While it's impossible to actually create a book that tells you how to do "everything", this book does introduce a little bit of a great many things. Enough so that if you are curious, as tonite when I was wondering what the beginning stitches were for knitting, you might just find the answer.

And as books go, the incredible variety of topics just make for fun browsing. After all not many books tell you both how to play hide and seek, and then how to deal with severed limbs and fingers! (Just in case you decide to play hide and seek in a saw mill)

There are so many little things that one does not how to do like fixing a zipper or removing certain stains. This book provides over 1200 solutions. This is a ready reference in many ways. You can go to it looking for the solution to one problem and end up reading much more. Great fun and helpful.

Jack of all trades, master of none. If you want a quick high level summary of how to do or solve over 1000 things, this is a fun book. I don't know that it will be useful in practice, but I like the concept. The big challenge, from my perspective, is that the internet means that I won't be looking in a book for my random questions.

Learning how things work, and how things are put together is something that I can not get enough of. My grandparents gave me my first tools, and I've been building things ever since. This book helped me understand how to just about anything that piqued my interest.

Growing up, this was my favorite reference guide. Always had it re-issued from the library. Has useful info about anything you want to do. Must have for any kids who have the inquisitiveness to know how to do just about anything.
