One of the most popular activities worldwide, running provides an incredible feeling of achievement and offers an enjoyable and easily accessible way to get fit. You only need to don a pair of running shoes, and anyone can run at any time or anywhere. This superb new book is an ideal reference for both beginners and for established runners wishing to improve their technique and broaden their experience.
This is such an awesome and comprehensive running book for all training levels. The book includes training schedules for all standard distances (adjusted for initial ability) and plenty of cross-training guidance. The nutrition section is great, and there are a number of recipes. I’ve already tried the guacamole pasta and am looking forward to trying the falafel. I also enjoyed learning about running history, some of the most popular races around the world, and reading about extreme events (mountain racing - yikes!). The photographs are beautiful. I picked this book up from the library on a whim, and now I will have to acquire my own copy for future reference.
Very thorough book. Dated (some of the tech in there gave me a giggle) & some of the topics aren’t considered PC these days (implying that people should get their BMI’s dangerously low to improve times for example) but taken with a pinch of salt the advice covers every area you could think of.
