A Hero and heroine who are always at odds with each other, but they get their HEA in the end. With a bonus. I love it.
An important note for Amazon US readers: This review will not appear as a verified purchase on the US site because I bought the book from Amazon UK.
I love Mandy Roth books, I've read 'a lot' of them and I've never been disappointed which is why she's one of my all-time favourite authors. I originally bought this terrific paranormal sci-fi romance a few years ago from Amazon UK as 'Point of No Return', the third book in the Project Exorcism series and really enjoyed it. It's been updated since then, re-written, added to and given a new cover with a new name. 'Jordan' is book three of the Interstellar Alphas series and is even more enjoyable than it was before, although I loved is so much I didn't think it was actually possible to improve it... and how wrong I was. I really wish there was a category for books that are so good you'd want to save them if the house was burning down - this would definitely be among the ones on my list. Although this is the third in the series, Mandy Roth's books have enough background woven into every story that they can easily be read as stand alones without feeling I've missed anything, and each is a complete story that concentrates on the HEA for a particular pair. There are no cliff-hangers here although the main thread continues from book to book.
I love this series about a future where a war on earth resulted in all Paranormal and Supernaturals being shipped off to other, pre-designated worlds. They left in five ships, but only one arrived at it's destination, the other four are believed to have been destroyed by an exploding star shortly after take-off, with no survivors. Unfortunately for the inhabitants of Sargaidia, the belief was wrong and one of the ships crashed on their planet. The one containing Vampire Sorcerer and thoroughly evil bad guy Stygian, who now rules 'the others' who came on the same ship as well as parts of the native population and wants to wipe out the Janelle Family.
The 'Commision' now runs all worlds with human populations and kills or deports anyone with paranormal or supernatural blood.
'Jordan' is about true mates Nina Janelle, were-panther and head of security for the village/town/city of Shamenia, who is going through an agonisingly painful mating heat and Jordan Vasil, who was second-in-command of his brother Sevan's ship, Alpha Brig 3 when it crashed on Sargaidia two years ago after being damaged by unexplained and uncharted space debris. Their problem is they don't realise they're mates.
Jordan and the rest of his family are were-lions with so little shifter DNA that they weren't detected by the Commission's scans and managed to rise through the military ranks. After being caught in an ambush by 'the others', Jordan can now shift into a lion, a tiger and a cross of both. The Commission doesn't know about the shape-shifters within it's ranks. The Commission also thinks that Alpha Brig 3 has been destroyed.
Nina and Jordan fight with or dance around each other constantly, but want each other with a vengeance. They set off on a 'search and find' mission to neighbouring planet Margaidia, but their ship has been sabotaged and they never make it off Sargaidia. Injured and in hostile territory, they must work together to get home alive.
I loved this book and really enjoyed all the characters, both new and old. Whilst it's not really what I'd call action packed, there is a strong sense of the on-going war with the others and they met a priestess I really liked on their journey, who I hope will appear in future books. There is humour, a steamy bit or two and the HEA we all expect and as usual, while the story isn't all that long, novella length, Mandy Roth manages to pack an awful lot into a small space and I always feel like I've read a much longer book. I can't wait for the next one.
Two stubborn shifters get it on! Sexy Hot Adventure with a HEA and hints of future books in the series! YEAH!, September 10, 2015 By Sue Me
This review is from: Point of No Return: Project Exorcism Series (Kindle Edition) In this latest episode of Project Exorcism Jordan Vasil and Nina Janelle go toe to toe, head to head, and everywhere in between in the is rollicking love story with Jordan chasing after Nina, his mate.
They left the Star Commission as they do not tolerate paranormals - at all! All infants are tested and those that are found to contain paranormal DNA are made permanent prisoners or are executed. Oh, Happy Fate!
Jordan and his brother Sevan faked the destruction of their space ship in order to disappear and not have Fleet Command always looking over their shoulders. They have known since they were small that they must hide their paranormal aspects. Jordan is second in command to his brother on their ship Alpha Brig Three.
Before coming to Planet Sargaidia, Jordan only had a small amount of lion DNA. Once on the planet he was attacked and now also contains tiger and additional lion. His animal prefers a mix to any one single beast. His brother, Sevan, is the ship's commander and is happily mated to Nina's sister, Lorelei. They are the proud parents of twin 6 month old boys. Then, there is Nina, a panther shifter.
Nina feels responsible for the security and safety of everyone in the village of Shamenia. She doesn't have time nor want a mate. In the past, when in heat she has taken multiple lovers to quench the fire. It's no longer working. It hasn't worked since Jordan arrived! This seems to make her spitting/hissing angry. When Jordan arrived on the planet, his lion immediately recognized Nina as his. Her's did too, but she's not telling!
Nina's in heat again and doesn't know how she will get through it. She knows her body recognizes and craves Jordan. She finds herself giggling and clutching Jordan's shirt! His touch calms and soothes her. She tried to kiss Jordan, but he took over and kissed her!
Jordan and Nina are scheduled to go to a twin planet, Margaidia, (but it is highly developed with large cities and skyscrapers) to look for Nina's brother. It will be just the two of them. It will be a dangerous mission as this is another planet that loathes paranormals.
This is a Mandy Roth book, so you can expect scorching sex, adventures, mishaps, evil-doers, and hints of future books. Naturally, it has a HEA.
sigh... the book is over and now I need to wait for the next book in this series. Write faster Mandy! Another winner by Mandy M. Roth!
First some background, this is a standalone but is best read in series order to get the full effect of character interrelationships and setting! The universe is pretty much under control of the Commission and being supernatural is a death sentence. Supernaturals were banished from Earth to outer space in a mass exodus called Project Exorcism. Some of these ships found their way to planet Sargadia where this story takes place. Nina; panther shifter, head of the guard, hot head, and all around general bad A$$ goes through men like water in an effort to relieve the pain of her mating cycles and will continue to until she finds her mate. Jordan; bedroom legend, quick wit and quicker temper, 2nd in command of Commission ship Alpha Brig Three (parked in Sargadia for the last 18 months and staying indefinitely), and lion shifter with tiger DNA introduced during attack, has it bad for Nina but does not want to acknowledge they are mates (of course she doesn’t either ). They head out on a mission to retrieve a family member but the shuttle blows up and leaves them stranded in the wilderness with their insecurities and her increasingly desperate need to relieve the pain of her cycles, bringing the question of whether they are mates or not to a rather heated and indisputable realization. I loved these characters and found the story entertaining, great addition to a great series.
I LOVE this series, I'm always reading them over and over again, and now with these new releases I can't get enough!!
Jordan Vasil is pilot and brother to Sevan Vasil. He is a self assured cheeky lady's man, or so he used to be. But since his ship landed on this planet he now calls home, there has been only one woman in his sights even though he has many literally falling over themselves for him to notice them, at one time he would have bedded each and everyone of them, but now he has eyes only for Nina, which is too bad for Jordan cause he believes this one and only woman he wants hates his guts.
Nina Janelle can hold her own in any fight against any man. Infact she is head of the guards in her complex. she is also known for using her guards for a more personal role and throws them away after she has fulfilled her needs. You see Nina is a panther shifter and her heat cycles have been getting worse, meaning she needs more men to satisfy her beasts needs each time. But everything changed since Alpha Brig Three landed on her planet just over a year ago. Jordan Vasil the only man on her planet who can rub her the wrong way is also the ONLY man who can satisfy her shifter needs and with just one look can set her full body on fire, and she won't admit to herself that she wants him and only him for the rest of her life, until they go on a mission together and the very thought of losing him again hits her.
This book manages to wrap itself around your little finger demanding your every bit of attention. As soon as you open the first page you just don't want to put it down, Nah scrub that, you CAN'T put it down, you find yourself needing to know what happens next. It certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat.
If you love your PNR's with a dumb headed alpha (when it comes to accepting she's his mate) a strong independent heroine, kick ass fight scenes, sexual encounters that will set your reader on fire, Ms Roth's sense of humour throughout which will have you laughing aloud several times, and all this, wrapped up with a HEA, then this is the book for you.
Each book can be read alone but I do recommend that you read in series order.
I received an arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Jordan is book 3 in the Interstellar Alphas Paranormal Shifter Galactic series. Jordan Vasil was a well respected part of the galaxies Commission Army. Second in command only to his brother, Sevan, he liked his job and longed for nothing. Everything changed after they ended up stranded in a village on a strange planet with problems of it's own. His brother finds his true mate and they decide to stay and help the villages inhabitants. He falls in love with the beauty of the planet but for one thing. His constant battle of wills with Nina Janelle, the village's fiery, head strong captain of the guards. She will be the death of him one day.
Nina Janelle is a warrior. She has kept her village safe and trained soilders for years. She has no patience for over protective alpha males and their antics and absolutely no desire to settle down with one male. Jordan Vasil is one of the most aggravating men she has ever met. And though he is her brother in law she doesn't mind giving him a little hell.
This book was a good read though I felt it lagged in parts. Jordan is sexy with a great sense of humor. Nina is a hard as nails female who takes no stuff. And when they finally come together, whew, do sparks fly! But it took a little to long for them to actually get to that point. And later they kept having misunderstanding after misunderstanding. I felt the angst was dragged out a little too much. Though it was good to catch up with previous characters like Jordan's brother Sevan, and Nina's siblings, Bradi and Lorelei, as well as Nina's friend Pheebees. It was a quick read and it set the story up for the next book. I can't wait to see how the evil Stegian is redeemed.
Mandy Roth - Jordan -Interstellar Alphas This is book 3 in the Interstellar Alphas series by Mandy Roth. We have been introduced to these characters in the previous books and now it is a Jordan and Nina's story.
In the previous book Jordan's brother mates Nina's sister but Jordan has continued to stay on planet not returning to his officer position with The Commission. Jordan Vasil is a were-lion and has hide his shifter abilities from the commission all this time. Basically he does not want to leave Nina but has not gotten around to telling her plus the two tend to quarrel constantly. Still he remains patient with the tough no nonsense head of the Stargaidia guards. Nina, were-panther , has no time to be going into "heat" but her shifter side feels otherwise. Not shy to have been with other men somehow the only man who will quell her were-panther's needs is Jordan. The one male who never fails to get on her nerves (although she secretly is very drawn to him). Circumstances arise that bring Nina and Jordan together when they crash going on an off world mission. Together they have to face danger, adventure and get over several obstacles, the main one being to stop denying hey are fated mates. I was really looking forward to Jordan's story and although I enjoyed the story and would still highly recommend it, I felt it was a bit short and more shallow than the first two. The ending also had a bit of a cliff hanger as the two still need to complete the mission they had set off on. Overall, It's an entertaining enjoyable series and I look forward to book 4
Nina Janelle is accustomed to getting what she wants out of her men--in battle and in bed. This is a 3,5 star review...closer to 4. I really love how Mandy M Roth writes and again and again she proves to us that she has it !!!!! The book is a fun quick book to read that will keep you entairtained. Its well written with humour and witt. Both characters are strong headed and Alphas in their own accord. Despite the fact this book is part of a series it can stand on its own. Still i felt that it needed more details and more pages and more words. It didn't leave me wanting in the end but it sure left me with wanting more scenes and more details during the book. Still its a really great book in the series and a must read ! I recieved a complimentary copy of this book by the author and this is my honest review.
Nina is desperately fighting off her heat cycle. She is over having to take numerous lovers during her cycle, it just leaves her feeling unsatisfied and horrible for using the men around her as a stopgap. Even Pheebes can no longer sustain her. Now she has begun drastic measures to curb her appetite.
Were-lion Jordan knows that he and Nina are mates, but she can't seem to abide being around him. But if only she'd let her defences down he knows the passion between them could light up a city! But when a shuttle is sabotaged and they are stranded far from home, Will Nina finally admit to herself that Jordan is what she needs or will she allow her animal free reign to satisfy itself whoever it sees fit?!?!
Jordan and Nina are wonderfully similar, even though neither of them would admit it! They were both great samplers of the other sex but when they met they just couldn't seem to enjoy casual sex anymore. Nina is so strong and steady and she needs little fun in her life, Jordan is just the man for the job!
I don't think Ms. Roth has written a story that I haven't loved granted I am not a big fan of vampires but she had shifters in those stories. I know that I read Sevan's story and immediately liked his wisecracking brother Jordan so I was happy that he got Nina to notice him even though it was because of her heat cycle. I love my visits to Sargaida I believe the planet is called because of the magical talents and the shifter abilities and those kick ass sisters. Nina avoids Jordan and snipes at him at every chance but she wants him though she won't admit it. Jordan has been drawn to Nina ever since they had to land on Nina's planet to ask for assistance in Sevan and Lorelei's story. The more I get to know these characters the more I love them. Jordan got abducted and now has a hybrid of cats that he can call upon Tiger, lion and I guess a tigon.
Overall the only complaint I would have is the brevity of the story and the ending of the story regarding the baby. I voluntarily read an advance copy.
This is book 3 in Mandy M Roth's Interstellar Alphas series. This is Nina and Jordan's love story-- were-panther Nina and were-lion Jordan are true mates and they want each other so much but they fight all the time, like really fight. Their chemistry is thru the roof HOT which leaps off the pages as you read. They end up having to go on a mission together and that mission goes wrong and they have to depend on each other to make sure that they live, that is when their passion for each other truly goes off and they go wild for each other. I enjoyed watching how they depended on each other, got to truly find out what made each other tick and that heat and passion ignite. Ms. Roth writes her characters with heat, passion, humor, action and some comedy and this book is no different. I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait for book 4 in this series.
My Rating: 4.6 stars ***** "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review***
Nina Janelle is an woman who always gets what she wants in regards to her men in battle and in the bed.Nina is a were-panther and lately she been having a battle of her own a battle she seems to be losing to due to her heat cycle .In order to quell her burning desire she needs goes though an endless round of men to help with the pain of being in heat can cause a shifter if certain needs are not met. Jordan Vasil is a pilot who with his team had to make a emergency landing on Nina's planet a while back the two never not get along very well. But lately the two find they have hidden feeling for one another that each are to stubborn to give into. That's until when Nina turns to Jordan for help with a mission to find her long lost brother. When something happens and the two are left in a struggle for their lives true feelings come to light but not with a few twist and turns to battle first.
Jordan is fun and full of sexual tension for Nina and Jordan. Jordan and his brother along with their crew have found their way home to Nina’s world. Long ago all supernaturals were sent off of earth. Some made their way to other worlds and some are assumed to have never made it. Jordan carries a tiny strain of shifter. After an attack, Jordan carries a lot of shifter and he’s trying to deal with it and the fact that he and his shifter want Nina.
Nina and Jordan are always bickering with each other in a way to avoid the sexual tension. Nina keeps Jordan at a distance. All of their family and friends can see that there is something there. If only Jordan could have Nina admit it. The choice to ignore Jordan is about to be taken out of her hands as the shifter part of her goes into heat. Their hook up and acceptance of each other takes on a whirlwind pace. It was a quick and entertaining read. Jordan is a stand alone in the Interstellar Alphas series.
Third and standalone offering in Project exorcism is a battle to see who is the strongest? That seems to be the main battle between two strong shifters who want each other. Need each other. Refuse to give in to each other. After their battle is exacerbated by Nina's physical mating cycle demands and actual pain, she and Jordan are forced together during an assignment gone wrong.
These two are closed up and self-protective is even the force of the mating call enough to break through? Competition, family loyalty, evil enemies and love all play a part in the overall compelling story. This may be a short one but doesn't lack a thing--except it ends and I for one want more stories about this group of people. This is my honest review of this advance reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
This is the third book in Mandy M Roth's Interstellar Alphas series and Nina and Jordan's story. In this complex and fascinating world, were-panther Nina and were-lion Jordan are true mates but despite wanting each other desperately, all they do is fight. The chemistry between the two leads is epic, you can feel the want they have for each other coming off the page - a shifters desire is never subtle! When a mission goes wrong and Jordan and Nina must rely on each other for survival, the passion between them truly ignites. I loved this book and enjoyed the characters. Mandy M. Roth always manages to pack so much into her books and Jordan had a bit of everything - humour, romance, steam and action, what more could you want? This was just what I was looking for.
I received an ARC of Jordan in exchange for an honest review.
Close quarters brings the unexpected Nina Janelle is head of the Sargaidia guards and not accustomed to taking orders in or out of bed. And defiantly not from a cocky pilot that’s just so happens to turn her libido on high. But his attitude is not what she’s accustom to and doesn’t want to tolerate. Jordan Vasil has had the hots for Nina from the moment he saw her. But she would rather cut his tongue out then have anything to do with him. But the two are put in close quarters when Jordan pilots Nina to find her brother. And this is where things really get interesting and unexpected things happen. This is part of a series and yet is still a self-contained story that’s very well written and entertaining to read.
Jordan Basil's has been on Sargaidia for over a year now and while he is happy his brother has found his mate and happiness he is going nuts over one women. A huge change for him. That one women is Nina and she will not give him the time of day. Nina doesn't think Jordan really likes her and since he has been on her world no one else will do for her. She keeps having bad dreams that her twin brother is in danger and needs to get to him even if it kills her and it just might. Love the action and spice in this story. the characters great , funny and crazy that leads to lots of drama and miss understandings lol If your into science fiction, Shifters, and magic this story has it all. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.

Book three in the Interstellar Alphas series. Not only do you get one hot alpha male, but you also get one stubborn alpha female. Nina has been the head of security, a warrior and stubborn as hell. She has been fighting her attraction to Jordan from the first day he and his brother requested to dock on their planet to repair their ship. Nina has been fighting this because she plans on leaving to look for her twin brother. But things don't go as planned and it takes Nina surviving the crash of the ship her and Jordan were on, Jordan claiming her as his mate and Nina almost getting attacked by others for her to realize what Jordan truly means to her and that he would lay down his life for her.
I received a copy of this story for an honest review.
Jordan has always been a love'em and leave'em man...until Nina. But Nina will not give him the time of day. S when a mission turns deadly can Jordan protect the woman who holds his heart?
Jordan is the latest in Ms. Roth's Interstellar Alpha's series. Both Nina and Jordan are strong characters. Nina isn't used to depending on anyone. In fact they depend on her for their safety. I love seeing Jordan and Nina fight what they are to each other. Their passion erupts at an inopportune moment but it works for them. Ms. Roth gives us a well written enjoyable story. I can't wait to see where she will take us next in this world.
Totally love this book, I totally love how Mandy makes you feel as though your one of the characters in her books! This story about how two shifters want each other very badly, but both to subborn to give in. But when they do, watch out!! Hot hot hot!! I enjoy the back and forth and arguments between Jordan and Nina, that means they have a ton of passion and it shows. I like that it is set in space on other planets kinda adds something to the shifter story, not the same old stuff you read, gives it a different kinds view, one where you can see us at one day. Really good book and a must read.
This book was a little different than the first in the series in that it did not contain any real fighting with the enemy. In Ms. Roth's books I usually like to read about how she has her hero or heroine get out of the scrapes they find themselves in with whichever antagonist there is. In this book I expected there to be at least one epic battle with the others, but there wasn't. This book is strictly about the mating heat and how Nina and Jordan handle that heat.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This is book 3 of Mandy Roth's Interstellar Alpha series. I loved the first two, this one was ok. It is still a good book, to me it just did not love up to my expectations based on the other two books. The story lacked the action and excitement the others had and it seemed to have no meat to it. It was basically Nina getting through her heat and both her and Jordan denying they are mates and exploding when it happens. Still, I am looking forward to the next in the series.
While I loved the story and how Mandy Roth brings her characters to life and I didn't care for Nina's self doubt, because for me, it didn't mesh with her strong character. Because the books I love come alive for me, things that would bother me in real life people, bother me in books. Aside from that, I loved the story. The writing was excellent as always and I couldn't put it down until it was done.
Hot and Intense! This quick read packs a punch! This book blends sci-fi, romance, and paranormal in a unique way that I unexpectedly enjoyed. I do feel it is important to read this books in order (this being book 3) otherwise it can be a bit confusing.
Nina (part sifter, part magic) is the head guard and is used to ordering her men around without question. Jordan of course gives her nothing but grief, but she CANNOT stop thinking about him....particularly when she goes into her heat cycle!
This was and still my favorite book in this series I loved Jordan and Nina. I loved Nina from Book 1 so when she got her own book I was so happy, and to find out that Jordan really was her mate I was even more happy I liked him from book one as well. The dynamic between Jordan and Nina was explosive from the beginning they just rubbed each other the wrong way but it had more to do with how much they wanted each other. I loved this read from beginning to end.
I love this series and this installment doesn’t disappoint. Nina and Jordan have been going at it with attitude between each other since Jordan’s ship first touched down. The attraction between these two is undeniable that I don’t understand why it took them this long to see the light. When forced to help Nina to overcome some inner demons, Jordan plays into the hands of a priestess who may or may not be the enemy. This was a really good story that I need more of.
Well. I like Nina but the secrets and holding out is ridiculous. Poor Pheebes. I felt really bad for him. Nina thinks she has to be on guard all the time. She cannot let anyone know how scared and guilty she feels. She needs to find her twin. It would be nice to know why Jordan could not man up and tell Jordan how he felt too. I notice Stegian is next. This better be good after all his evil doings
This book is part of a series but still a stand alone story. It has it all: violence, passion, humour, stubborn Alphas both male and female, danger, intrigue and above all love then this book and series is for you. MMR has done it again and captured my mind with her well written story that drags you into their world wraps you up and has you alternately reaching for a tissue or a cold drink.
I am so excited to see Jordan's story. Nina and Jordan are great together...when they stop fighting. I liked getting more of a "feel" for Nina in this one. The heat level is ghost pepper all the way! This was Fantastic!
I absolutely fell in love with Jordan and Nina. They have so much chemistry it was obvious even in the first book in the series. I was looking forward to their story. Mandy does an amazing job bringing their story to life.
