A few years ago, when people were just starting to recognize the potential of social marketing, I signed up for a LinkedIn account. Beyond adding my profile and connecting to a few colleagues, I really didn’t do much with this resource. At the time, I concluded that Linked In would be a very good resource if I were looking for a job or worked as a recruiter. Otherwise, the site was merely an address book online.
I started looking through Using LinkedIn and saw that the site is now much more than an address book. There are now all sorts of useful applications for sharing documents, groups for discussion, blogging, and a variety of little apps just adding personality to the profile page.
Most definitely LinkedIn is still primarily a tool for job seekers and recruiters. Nonetheless, after reading this book, I can see the potential of this site for collaboration of colleagues and like-minded businesses. I’m thinking maybe it’s time to revamp my profile and do a bit of digging.
Just wanted to brush up on the basics and perhaps learn something new. This is a comprehensive guide to LinkedIn features, procedures, rules and tips. Easy to follow organization of content and step by step approach for each feature in LinkedIn.
Very basic. It only tells you how to use LinkedIn, not how to take advantage of this form of social media. Know how is great but it is the application which brings about the desired results. Knowing how to ride a bike is great but knowing how to ride a bike for money is better.
