I bought this book for my husband years ago and he never read it; he loved Giant Pandas more than anything but he just looked at the pictures. I have to say that I did the same. This book was published in 1966, so it's pretty out of date and unfortunately the print is so small that it's for me to read it. It's a very detailed account of the history of the Giant Panda and I'm sure that the information is pretty outdated by now. There are pictures on every page and a lot of them are very cute, but some are quite disturbing. I doubt the disturbing pictures would be included if a similar book was released in this century. Still, there are some pretty cute pictures scattered throughout which made it worthwhile. I must point out, however, that there are several pictures that many might find disturbing and probably wouldn't be included in a book like this that was published in the 21st century. I found a lot of the pictures hard to look at.
