Esther Hicks is an American inspirational speaker and best-selling author. She has co-authored nine books with her husband Jerry Hicks, presents workshops on the Law of Attraction and appeared in the first release of the film The Secret. The Hickses' books, including the best-selling series The Law of Attraction, are — according to Esther Hicks — Channelled from a group of non-physical entities called Abraham (Hicks describes what she is doing as tapping into "infinite intelligence").
Esther Hicks was born in Coalville, Utah. She married her current husband, Jerry Hicks, in 1980 and has one daughter by her former marriage.
Esther Hicks's material was the inspiration behind "The Secret"
I listened to this as an audiobook & I think Jerry did not read with enough feeling so it wasn’t as easy to listen to as it could have been. I think the concept discussed is really interesting & makes sense but 1 star was lost due to the poor delivery of the wisdom.
Listened to this on audio. I have read The Secret many years ago and this brought back the law of attraction where like attracts like. Very uplifting message.
A quick listen. Nothing I haven’t heard before, but an important message overall. Repetition helps to reinforce ideas. The key takeaway is how you view a situation can change the situation entirely. This is a critical skill to have in life, but falsely saying daily affirmations will not have one achieve this goal. Strong friendships & achieving hard tasks will help one gain the mindset necessary to embody these values.
I appreciate the information on processes going on in lives behind the scenes. It reminds me of similar truths presented in the movie "what the bleep do we know" I highly recommend this book with the caveat to suspend maybe some hard held beliefs about life one maybe carrying. Cheers!
This is my second time reading this book. It is a good reminder about you attract what you focus on. Focusing on what you lack is as strong as focusing on what you want and have. Spending time thinking "I would be happy if I had...." keeps that further away from you.
I had something happen at work today. Typically I would easily get angry and start looking at placing blame for a missed deadline (& rightfully so in this case). Instead, I realized getting angry and complaining would only lead me down the path of an angry, frustrated evening. I put myself in a mode of "this is an opportunity to..." and now I, enjoying my dinner without fuming over something I had no influence over.
This book makes me think of people who live in victimhood. They question why negative things keep happening or why good things don't happen to them....all about perspective and mindset. I know it's hard to avoid dwelling in the negative during the really hard stuff.
As it was my second time, reading it, I think more resonated with me based on life experiences since my first read and current state of things for me. All I'm saying is give it a chance and consider what is going on in your life as you absorb the content.
The teachings are really good, but I read this book in Romanian and it lasted a bit more than 400 pages, so I honestly recommend to just skip to listening to Jerry and Esther’s videos/recordings on YouTube. Give you the same ideas and in a more entertaining manner. Although, it’s worth reading the book when you go through a mentally restructuring process and you are deliberately creating new neuronal pathways in your brain, and generate another energy you emit. It’s a good reminder of how we are masters at manifesting and that anyone can do it as long as you get the magic idea behind deliberate creation, being in the vortex and being in the flow and accepting.
Really fantastic and uplifting information. The first chapter also covers some background about Ester and how she became a channel for Abraham, who/what Abraham is, and the intention of the messages. My only critique is that the narrator for the audio reads very fast. I would have appreciated a slower, more deliberate narration. Otherwise, highly recommended for those interested in the conscious collective, etc.
More valuable info on the law of attraction. Kindof a weird thing-- this woman Esther has spirits that speak through her and they wrote the book in order to help others. Not sure what I think about that, but I do think there's good info here. It's certainly presented in a weird, detailed, kindof boring way. But since I'm working on making my 27 million bucks. :)
High level, practical guide to playing the game of life, using The Law of Attraction. Perfect for anyone who is new to LOA and manifesting what they want, and taking steps to change their life for the BEST.
Lots of great info and very interesting presentation. Would have enjoyed it more if the narrator spoke slower. He would run sentences together and it made it rather confusing.
