Meg Cabot was born on February 1, 1967, during the Chinese astrological year of the Fire Horse, a notoriously unlucky sign. Fortunately she grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, where few people were aware of the stigma of being a fire horse -- at least until Meg became a teenager, when she flunked freshman Algebra twice, then decided to cut her own bangs. After six years as an undergrad at Indiana University, Meg moved to New York City (in the middle of a sanitation worker strike) to pursue a career as an illustrator, at which she failed miserably, forcing her to turn to her favorite hobby--writing novels--for emotional succor. Queen of Babble in the big city is a book about a girl named Lizzie, who meets a boy in France. They later become a couple, and she finds out that her boyfriend Luke is a French prince. Luke invites Lizzie to live with him in New York at his mother's Fifth Avenue pied-a-terre, with a doorman and a resident Renoir. Lizzie takes the offer only part-time, so that she could go look for a job to get her own apartment instead. Lizzie is a wedding gown specialist but she ends up having trouble looking for a shop that could hire her. She finds Monsieur Henri a wedding gown shop owner, and ends up convincing him to let her work there for free. Her best friend Shari's boyfriend helps her look for a job that could get her started for getting an apartment, so that she could earn money and get to do what she loves(designing dresses). Lizzie herself is a big thinker so she can't help but think about what her future will be like with Luke. She's confident that her Christmas gift from Luke will be a wedding ring. Will Luke propose to Lizzie?
I liked this book because it was very creative in a way that it would help me learn more about weddings/wedding gowns while I would read a fictional story. I gave this book a 4/5 because I felt like the author included things that would sometimes not be important to the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read love stories.

Finish juga 1-3
ternyata roller coaster dan plot twist guys, he didnt end up with the Perfect Luke. Tapi dia bertemu sosok sempurna versi Lizzie yang menggantikan Luke di hatinya secara telak.
Paling sad si pas Granny meninggal, benar kata Lizzie. Setidaknya lakukan upacara mengenang neneknya dengan hal hal yang sekiranya membuat neneknya senang.

Yes, there is too much babble in these babbles books and I found myself skipping through some passages. I actually only read the first and the third book, but I don’t think that I missed much from not reading the second.
Follow Lizzie Nichols, 22 (or 23?), and fresh out of college, as she went through the ordeal of attaining true love, self fulfillment and success. The course of the story was quite predictable actually; any perceptive reader could tell that it was her best friend’s boyfriend that she was going to end up with (Sulutan withheld, her best friend turned out to be lesbian) and that she would end up being a fashion designer of some sort.
What’s nice about the book is the little quote thingies found at the beginning of every chapter. It was actually quite insightful, especially the stuff about fashion (in the first book) and wedding/marriage (in the third book). I don’t know about the second book because I never laid my eyes on it.
Never to talk about ourselves is a very noble piece of hypocrisy.

I loved that this came in a bundle. Especially after i finished the second book because I need the third one right away for the cliff hanger. If I didn't have it then I would have been cursing Ms. Cabot while shaking my fist. I have no idea what it is but Meg always has a way of writing characters that you love then changing it up and vice versa. I think my most favorite character had to have been Gran. I just hope I am that way when I am older. Not a care in the world and annoy the hell out of everyone. And this series is a nice light easy read. The only problem being that I needed to find out what happened while at work. Don't bring these to work! If only I were paid to read at work! Maybe I should try and get a job at a publishing house...

Lizzie Nichols cracks me up! I love the internal monologues and the way she is able to justify absolutely everything with her odd sense of logic. And the random extracts between chapters, such as exerts from her Thesis or bridal advice in the form of wedding dress designs, its informative as well as hilarious and sweet. A definite must read series for lovers of humorous romance!

The first book was great and should have ended there. I think making this into a series only created an alternate story line where it wasn't necessary and less interesting than the first. Read the first book, skip the rest.

A light-hearted read for sure. I really enjoyed the first book, but the third one stank. The second book ended on a cliffhanger, so I had to keep reading. I wish they were all as good as the first.
