Doris Mr. Bennet wasn't *always* married to Mrs. Bennet, you know.

Emmy B. Oh did it happen before he got married to her? I have wanted to read the book but many of the reviews said that the Bennets were represented rather unsympathetically, which is mainly why I refrained from reading it, though it sounded like an interesting concept to start with. Well, thanks for setting me straight on that first thing at least :)

Anna Doris is correct; it happens before they are married. All the same, I wouldn't read it. I have many other issues with the characterization with the P&P characters.

Debra Schnitzer I was loving the book til this came out. She changed Mr. Bennets' characterization with him getting the housekeeper pregnant. The war scenes were excruciating. It had nothing to do with Pride and Prejudice.
