Your interpretation makes a lot of sense Kaylie. I also think that Dad committed the first murder; at least I read quite a bit about him that supports my theory.
The reason I don't think Andy committed a murder is because a) I've read interviews w/ the author who talks about how he respects Andy's loyalty to his son; that all of us would hope to have a parent like that on our side. (I don't think he'd make that statement if there was somehow Andy committing a murder in the plot). And b) I do feel that Andy, although not honest with himself about his son, was very honest with the reader about his fears, how he'd locked away who his father was/is, how he worked hard to not be his father. I think he put so much energy into controlling himself that he never saw anything developing in his son. Although I do agree with you that it would be quite intriguing if each of the Barber men had committed a murder, I don't think Andy did.
