I know what you mean :) I also thought it would be something totally different but after all I still liked it a lot.
I did like what the author was writing and stuff, but since I had thought it would be similar to Alice in Wonderland I was kind of disappointed... I don't think I will read the next book, but don't want to say it was a bad book :)
I thought it would be some sort of walking dead combined with Alice in Wonderland. It was a cliche and confusing story but I did like it to be honest. Don't know what the second book will bring. Maybe it has this amazing turn in the story, who knows? :)
