To be honest with you, in the books I would agree with a no to Paige and Nick to some degree. Cause there is still quite the distinction between the supernatural characters in the books. But when you stop and think about how much of a ladies man they always said Nick was and even Paige had to admit to her wild times in her past in I think Dime Store Magic before Savannah came along, it did have me wondering, why WOULDN'T they hook up? What got me confused though was Aleistir a made up character for the show or what? I recall an Xavier and Leah, demons that had certain abilities. But Alestir was definitely a newbie.
I suppose that's actually a good point. I haven't read that book in years so I suppose I completely forgot about Paige being described as having wild times since Lucas.
Even so, it seemed like Nick was having a more emotional connection to Paige which honestly I didn't like. I always loved that Armstrong never tried to have some woman be a special snowflake that could tame his womanizing ways because that always happens in every other novel.
Yeah the whole Alestir thing....I was really irritated with that. Especially because it seems to completely destroy the sorcerer thing. I'm really hoping they figure out a way to save that but I can't figure out a way since they also changed witches magic. I remember witches can't do anything overly exciting like what was done in the show, that was sorcerer magic.
Yea, I really hated that. No male witches mean no sorcerers, so no Lucas. :( I really liked Lucas, he grew on me. But I get what your saying about Nick too. I guess with the show's version of Nick he is looking for some kind of connection after the loss of his dad so abruptly. And Clay and Elena always going at it around the house does lend one to be like when will I get MY someone like that I suppose.
From how they were doing things, I think they might just shoot Paige right up to ruling the Coven and NEVER getting together with anybody. Which really sucks as she is clearly seeking someone too regardless what she told Clay.
And honestly who knows how next season(if there is one) will go with it ending with Elena all in blood looking crazy. Maybe the demons will come into play that way. But again, I don't quite like that aspect so to speak cause it is once more showing something ELSE knocking at the wolve's door than taking time out to rotate to another set of supernaturals in the world like the books did. And really points out why I feel authors should be FULL ON, part of EVERYTHING when their works are turned into movies and shows. Not just honorably mentioned. Cause although I may like some differences in season 2. So much else has changed that the whole world of the books are broken now. And to even try and pull other stories from other books and sew them on now, is going to really Frankenstein the show in a VERY bad way. And I think will turn potential new fans away from Armstrong's books. Which would be really unfortunate. :(
Yeah, he grew on me because he was different than most other male characters who usually have all strength and no brain and just basically pound their chest and protect their woman.
Actually, I remember Armstrong touched up on that. Nick at some point talks to Clay about how he wants a family and someone to love and Clay basically sits him down for a heart to heart to tell him he only wanted that because he was stuck seeing him and Elena all the time. With her pregnant and Clay about to have a family, it was really making Nick confused and that family life wasn't something Nick had ever wanted or would ever want. Nick ends up mulling it over and realizing Clay is actually right. I like that it was addressed because I'm sure it was something on a lot of readers minds.
If the third season really is about something else coming to knock on their door, I'll probably call it quits. I loved this series because it shifted main characters but would still sometimes bring in old ones in the next book. It really gets tiring in a series when it's just one bad thing after another for just one person (pack in this case) to deal with.
Exactly. A true character that demonstrated that the pen is mightier than the sword sometimes.
Would make sense and I guess something to be said when there is one chick of the species. She can tend to show the light to the other fellas. Be interesting to see what her daughter would bring other than another strong kick butt alpha of course.
Sadly enough I might just keep with it even if they were to go to the skids. Just to avoid some of the other cop and medical dramas on tv lately. I like a good mystery along with the next person. But I'm over Law and order or E.R. a millionth show. It's just soooo boring. So anything that isn't that I'm watching.
Elena is also not my favorite character, or even the Elena/Clay combo. I can't get over the changing her without consent aspect. But I loved the witch storylines, and they are RUINING the witches.
Yeah, I know the series has mostly ended since Armstrong said she wouldn't keep writing until everyone was sick of the series but I'd love to see what happens with the children. I'd like to see another book with the daughter as the POV.
Same here, Melissa! Clay can be a little too controlling for me to like him being with Elena. His character is interesting but I'm just not into their relationship, especially since he force changed her. It's true that she got so much good out of it but that doesn't make it okay.
I'm hoping they manage to salvage the witches. Paige was one of my favorites in the books. I love her relationship with Savannah and it was disappointing that the show instead focused on Savannah and Elena.
