Jess Right!!! Thats what kills me. Its the fact that the love story that SJM wrote between Feyre and Tamlin felt so wonderful. It felt epic. I read the book like 5 times because I loved the two characters so much. They were complicated but they really seemed to truly love each other in the end. So this whole idea that now Tamlin is going to turn kind of evil and possessive and paranoid just so we can feel good about shipping her with Rhys just feels manipulative. I agree completely "why write a great love story between Tamlin and Feyre if at the end it won't mean a thing?" *** This is it completely. Because ACOTAR is really about the love story. Sure, there is a back story there about Pyrenthian's history and how there is still some bad king on the loose that is threatening the land. But most of the story slowly and carefully deals with the love that grows between Tamlin and Feyre. THIS was the point of the story and everything else just felt like backstory to make ACOTAR more interesting. Whereas my understanding of her other series, the Throne series, really do deal more with the actual politics and adventure part that is going on. I only read the first THRONE story but i remember that the love story didn't take center stage. It was more in the background. Wherears ACOTAR was mainly love story. So I agree, 10000000% that by changing the love interest and justifying by making your first love interest BAD just makes everything that happened in ACOTAR just not mean a thing.

Mia Signorita If a character changes personality for a ship to happens I don’t think it’s a love triangle anymore. The whole point of a love triangle is the struggle between choosing the right person because you like\love them both. If the “good guy” turns into a dick so the “bad boy” can get the girl the struggle is gone. Whenever it happens I feel like an idiot of even shipping them. But for real no one is going to continue to date a guy or girl that was nice to you at first then turned into a jerk. You obviously breakup with the person right and date someone new. That is what love triangles have been reduced to, just dating other people. Give me a book where the protagonist feels a pull for both love interests at the same time. Does that even exist anymore?

TMR To the previous comment, it’s still a love triangle. His personality wouldn’t have beeen like this had the author not put complete favouritism towards her other characters and ruined the original characters. So yes it’s a ruined story.
