reeti I agree with you. Personally, I felt as if Friar Lawrence wanted to please everyone, and make everyone happy but failed miserably in the end. He tried to make Romeo and Juliet happy, but he should have been wise and should have known his limits

message 2: by Gautam (new)

Gautam I also believe this because Firiar Lawrence was the one who came up with the plan but the never told Romeo the plan.

message 3: by Hafsah (new)

Hafsah I agree with your claim. The plan was a cause of their death and Friar Lawrence is at fault for coming up with it and not thinking it though

Dylan Manalang I agree with your opinion. This plan backfired which caused both of them to die.

anonymous I agree with you completely. Friar Lawrence had many ideas which were filled with risks. His final plan of helping Juliet run away with Romeo also accompanied many dangers. If he had thought over the advice and plans which he created, he may have been able to devise a more foolproof plan. A less flawed plan could've prevented the death of Romeo and Juliet.

Kirthan Murthy I agree with your argument, I believe that Friar Lawrence was the one to blame for Romeo and Juliet's death. He was the one to come up with the plan which resulted in their deaths. I liked how you added dialogue that the Friar Lawrence said that made it seem as if the plan would definitely work. But in reality it was a horrible failure.

message 7: by Mahit (new)

Mahit I completely agree that Friar Laurence played a significant part in their death, but I think the method that he had in mind was good. The only thing that could have been improved was the method of execution. I think that because he didn't wait for Romeo to respond to his letter, he rushed the plan even though there was time before the deadline. He should have realized what might happen if Romeo were to hear of Juliet's death, and should have come up with a backup plan such as going to talk to Romeo in person.
