Hi Jennifer! That's happened to me before (rushing and losing the creative book-flow necessary to write a good book. In fact, I'm working on a manuscript I wrote years ago and want it published, and have caught some areas I made mistakes on by rushing it.
I get myself all worked up and trying to write quickly, that I write myself right into a paralyzed state--where I can't focus on the story anymore...it's definitely scary.
