He focused a lot on the disease and little on the plot, it's true. But I think that emphasizes John Green's style.
He prefers to focus on personal matters, those that directly or indirectly affect the protagonists.
Love, friendship, family ... In short, learn to live in adolescence. Maybe that's why the younger audience applauds him so much.
For me, the failure of the stars is their best work and my favorite book, however, in Turtles All the Way Down improves a little the development of male characters.
It's a very personal novel, you also have to keep it in mind

Turtle All the Way Down is a book that I have enjoyed and I just hope it does not take another five years for another book to come out.
