Chloe Byrne I somewhat agree, but the thing that really set Maxon apart from Aspen for me was the fact that he understood America's needs. He could instantly tell when America was feeling upset or annoyed, and I adored their way of 'tugging their ear' as a request to meet. If America declined a meeting with him, Maxon understood to leave her alone, and didn't annoy her further about whatever issue she was having. Aspen, on the other hand, simply barged into America's room whenever he felt like it, and also got annoyed very easily with America when she needed time to think about what decision she would make between him or Maxon. Which, by the way, she would never have had to do if Aspen hadn't broken America's heart first by breaking up with her. America never intentionally inflicted any pain onto Aspen, she was just trying to move on with her life. I also despised how Aspen just turned up out of the blue into the palace, completely invading America's peace. He kept pressuring her to choose between him and Maxon, whereas Maxon willingly gave her as much time as she needed, and never pushed her into saying that she loved him before she was ready to.

Aspen does have some good qualities, and his adoration for America is sweet, but in my opinion Maxon is the overall better husband for America.

Leah Crider You do have a point. I think that the gifts from Aspen meant more because of the situation Aspen was in where he didn't have much.
