Nedam, your perspective on Anna is inspired. They may live in Russia for awhile. They may immigrate to America and rejoin Sophie; the Count has friends in Intelligence, after all. But as many posters noted, Count Rostov is now a free man. His life with Anna, and possibly Sophie, is the next book in his life. And at the risk of sounding like a romantic, the next book in our lives as well. What happens in the rest of a person's life? We don't know. What we do know is that he was willing to leave behind a life and people he cared about to take care of the two people who gave his life purpose. He reconciled to his life in the Hotel Metropol, but he never resigned to it.
