Lydia Kius It seems that people are just naming off books that relate to mental illness or depression and not addressing the fact that Sylvia Plath was a brilliant wordsmith. If you are looking for books that may interest you if you enjoyed the feel of the Bell Jar you may enjoy the writing of Anne Sexton as well. But hard to compare any writers to Sylvia Plath.

Lydia Kius i recently read Mira Bartok's "The Memory Palace" which was full of beautiful prose and dealt with sadness and depression.
