I agree. A lot of the gory stuff was left in vague details. The part that grossed my English II class out the most was the fact that he tried to eat Richard Parker's poo, and that wasn't that bad.

Exactly! And they didn't even describe THAT part well (thank God). But he didn't eat it, right? I read it last year. ☺

No, he didn't. He spit it out because there were no nutrients in it. Richard Parker had used all of them.

Yeah, that was pretty gross. The scene with the rainbow dorados was really coll in my opinion, and not at all gross. I think the part with the (view spoiler)[teeth in the tree was really strange, but who knows if that was real or not. (hide spoiler)]
