I think you need BD first to love WD because in some parts a lot would be missing from the story if only reading book 2. For that matter I think the book would have been much less enjoyable if I hadn't read them back to back. Not to mention BD is too freaking awesome to miss out on ;)
some scenes are cut from BD and there are new scenes in WB so i guess you read both :)
I've read both books and for me bd is the best one, but you can certaintly read wd first.
You definitely need to read BD to understand WD!
you need to read both books! some scenese in bd dont appear in wd and vice versa, and it's nice to be able to see the relationship from both sides
U need to read both books although they similar. first book from Abby's POV and second from Travis's eyes, plus in the second book u got epilogue. Enjoy!
