It may make the story move along but it's just so unrealistic. No one could possibly be that gullible, if your friend told you she was hearing a werewolf's voice in her head and tattoo's were appearing on her back, would you just believe it because "We're friends and we support you"? And I don't really think the fact that it's her first book is an excuse for the terrible writing,it was clearly not edited whatsoever. I just find it hard to get involved in the story when all of this nonsense is thrown at me. I may try it again over the summer but it's unlikely i'll continue on with the series.
Then its just not your type of book. You should probably look into adult PNR if you're interested in the main characters making rational decision. Teenagers don't always make sense.
I have too. I just look around it like I would any other senseless person. I just remember what kind of character that person was. It doesn't affect the story for me.
This series actually does continue to look closer into each of the other side characters.. You probably still won't like them, though, because they goof off a lot and joke around instead addressing serious situations, but it does make me and others happy. Lol
I actually didn't mind the humor in this book,it was just over the top and unrealistic like everyone was trying to hard to be funny. Honestly I probably would have liked the book if it was written by someone else. The story was okay, I just wasn't impressed with the execution.
There are other series out there that are really good. Actually, there are a few Authors I like that always have smart teenagers. They're usually level headed in all situations. You don't have to check them out, but some authors are, Veronica Blade, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Rachel Caine, and Veronica Roth. I just want to help a fellow reader out :)
I have read Divergent and loved it :) I have read the first 6 Morganville Vampire books too and I like them well enough.
Check the others out, then. They are really good :)
I like Morganville, and it took a while to continue on with it around book 7, but this last one, Fall of Night, was REALLY good. Also, the next book is the last in the series. I'm excited!
Armentrout has one called the Lux series. It starts with obsidian. It's not about your average type of supernatural, so don't expect vampires or werewolves. I won't tell you unless you want to know, but it's more fun when it's a surprise ;)
She also has another book that's adult called Obsession. I'm in the middle of reading it and so far so good!
Blade has quite a few to choose from, but they aren't series yet. My favorite is Something Witchy This Way Comes. It's about a girl that finds out she has powers. Then finds out she has to choose a side (good vs.bad), but it's tricky to tell who is really good or bad. In the process of discovering all this, she has a bad boy bodyguard that doesn't trust anyone. Really interesting, and funny.
Her others are My Wolf's Bane (a girl that finds herself suddenly super strong and powerful) and A Bite's Tale (a remake of Cinderella with a supernatural twist). They are separate books, but have the same feel.
Hope that helps some :)
Well,I already know that the Lux series is about aliens lol (I only knew she wrote the covenant books). But Obsidian shows up on every single one of my recommendation shelves so I should probably check it out. Thank you :).
Haha! Yeah, it's good. And I'm really liking the Obsession book. It's funny and relatable.
No problem :)

Sally and Costin are my favorite couple :) she's always been my favorite of the three because she's level headed and shy. The last book made me love her more, too. Her "inner Jen" cracks me up :P
I was so mad! I can't wait until the next book because I KNOW Jen will not go with that. Dec has another thing coming.
As they love to say, "shit is about to hit the fan" AGAIN! Lol
I know! I wonder how Loftis will clear this up, because I know she's not losing her baby or Decebel. No way is that happening!
I liked Quinn Loftis's page on Facebook and she said she was trying to write the second book in the elfin series and ended up starting the next Grey Wolves book. I think she said it should be done by sometime this year. I'm not positive on that information, though.
Yeah, I liked it too. It didn't stick with me as much as the Grey Wolves, though. I want to read her newest one, Call Me Crazy. Haven't had a chance yet. Have you read either one of them?
I liked it I gave it 4/ 5 stars I dot remember but it was good but like you said I still like the Grey Wolf series better. I don't know maybe after the next book I might like it more but the Grey Wolf series still has my heart all the way
That's how I felt about it as well. I gave it 5 stars, but can't remember much about it. Apparently I liked it, though! I'll have to reread it before I read the next one.
