thethousanderclub Although it's been a while since I've read Faulkner, I remember having a hard time following him when I was in my teens.

Jeroen What Faulkner book did you read? I heard The Sound and the Fury is particularly difficult.


thethousanderclub I believe it was Tender is the Night, and I'm not convinced I finished. It's been probably over a decade since I attempted to read it.

Will IV Gravity's Rainbow, for sure! Also Ulysses is particularly difficult as well.

James Agreed Gravity's Rainbow is disturbingly difficult.

Michael Mahin As a literature professor, I'm going to agree with Gravity's Rainbow, and might add Pynchon's other book/brick, Mason&Dixon. The sheer density plus length of those make them tough to digest.
