you mentioned 'talking to animals' and it just hit me that noah's mother must have had a power too and she passed on the gene to noah like mara's grandmother passed the gene to mara. and remember noah saying that his mother was like a really enthusiastic animal rights activist- i bet, like you said, noah's mother could talk to animals or had some connection like that
