It's weird because though the Dark Duet was a complete mind f***, something about Caleb drew me in. I enjoyed this book but hated Tony. He took things too far in my opinion with the "incident". The best way I can describe the difference is Dark Duet felt like true dark non-consent read. Consequences felt more like watching the working of a text book abusive relationships brought to life. In a way Caleb's just business attitude made it easier for me to work through the abhorrent behavior. In the end I found myself strangely hoping for happy ending for both Caleb and Liv. Yet wanted Consequences to end with Tony buried in the backyard.
well this kind of storys are a stratch in believebality in general i dont know Dark duet was very decriptive in the abuse and rape and what Caleb pland to do made it more discusting not to mention Livvie was a young school girl from what i heard Consequences isnt that dark or decriptive so how auwful Tony is up to our amagination
Actually the reactions of the herione's play a big part of how I view the men. Liv is younger than Claire but much stronger. I guess it's easier for me to forgive Caleb because Liv bends but doesn't break. Claire in comparison behaves like a classic domestic abuse victim and feels broken down to me. Plus Tony's big reason for all this is so whatever to me. Caleb's behavior in comparison was warped through years of abuse and systematic stripping of his humanity. I understood his crazy better, possibly.
