This perfectly sums up why he's my favorite author, and what I love about science fiction. Curiosity about what's out there, a la Contact, Rama, 2001 with a modern flavor. I love that he focuses a lot on what alien life (flora and fauna) would look like, and how humans might interact with that. I'm so excited for this book. I loved the Children series, Cage of Souls, Alien Clay and can't wait to see what he has in store with this new book.
