Hi CedarHill, I'm sorry you didn't like my book. But I can assure you every discussion and scene in book 1 is relevant and ultimately contributes the plot ( I hate 'filler' myself.) In fact, one of the stories told by Hamar turns out to be vital in the last book of the series.
