Peter Lawson I was wondering the same; not knowing (or needing to know) where you live and not knowing the city at all, it left me feeling somewhat hollow to know the Uncle's and yourself were that close. Please stay safe! I'm (selfishly) hoping for another Penric tale so you can publish another hard back book. Penric's travels arrives this week and I have my library grade plastic ready to cover it. Best from Melbourne, Australia

Susan I am devastated by this news, and the general destruction and thievery that is going on all over the country since George Floyd's murder. The rioting and vandalism has pretty much destroyed any hope I had for the future. I cannot believe that Floyd would have approved these kinds of reactions, even to his murder. I hope Uncle Hugo will be able (and willing) to rebuild, and I hope you can stay safe in these horrible and disgusting times.

Marti Dolata Due to wide-spread prejudices I think it is important to say here that there is videotape that a white man was responsible for setting fire to Uncle Hugo's.

Carmen Just an update on this - there is an official fundraising campaign to support Uncle Hugo's rising again in some capacity! https://www.gofundme.com/f/let-us-hel...

Ellen When I read about Uncle Hugo’s it brought visceral memories of riot scenes in the Vorkosian books. It seemed like many of the riots sprang from experiences of injustice and frustration. I guess part of why Lois’ writing rings so true to me.
