Yes read the books! Sooo good -even better than the tv series! Lots of differences!
I second that comment, Read the Books! Love the show but love the books even more. So much more to the Sookie story than what the show gave us!

The books are AMAZING! I enjoyed the show, but the books give so much more!
The books are always better!! I watched the first season before I read the books (A friend of mine told me about the show first then afterwards told me it was based on the book series). After season 1, I just had to remind myself to just keep the show & the books separate. The books went one way and the show went the other, would drive myself crazy comparing the 2.
