Donna Hessong Thanks to the asker (Steve) and thanks for answering this all important question. I know a rod is 1/4 of a 66' chain or 16.5' (which is close to your Reclusean answer of 6 yds or 18', but I was getting all kinds of different answers for the distance of a kay. So, truly thanks. I am one of those people that needs to visualize things in my head. I will constantly flip to the map to make sure things work out and feel lost when these details are neglected. Mr Modesitt, you do a great job in this area. It is a leading factor in why I read your books, that and the lovely relationships you create, seemingly with ease...
