Sandy HBO is not going to call but that doesn't mean a Miles Movie or show could never happen. Personally I think a show might be a great format for Miles and could potentially be very long running, much like Doctor Who. It would take someone to write a really good pilot script though and then sell the idea to Lois and a producer/network. I could see a great show establishing characters opening with Miles blowing his physicals and the first episode ending around the scene of he and Elena in Koudelka's office. The books would offer loads of material for years worth of episodes with the right team of people. And there are also sufficient "gaps" which would leave room for writers to potentially create new material if needed. For example, potentially creating more adventures with the Dendarii before pivoting with the age of the actors/needs of the scripts to the "later" Miles lifestyle and circumstances. That would leave a lot of potential for a movie of "A Civil Campaign" or "Komarr" in between seasons. I think season one would cover "Warrior's Apprentice" with the final scenes either a season climax or cliffhanger to carry into the next season. That would work for sets and such as well, since most sets would be ships through the first season, and then a 'return to Barrayar' with new sets for the second season. The Academy experience might be fleshed out into several episodes or even a full season, or it might be mostly skipped over as a mid-season transition much like the books do. So many possiblities! Honestly, I think selling the idea to a studio or network would be the easiest part. There is always a hunger for the next "Star Trek" type hit and a Miles show certainly has the potential to do that. Also it comes with a ready fan base (although sometimes that can be a negative) much like "Game of Thrones" series. I even think Lois might be open to such an idea if presented well. The biggest hurdle is the acutal leg work of crafting a good script, a work of translation more challenging that most people realize, and assembling the right team of writers/actors/producers/set designers and so forth to bring it to life. I myself know some in the industry, but alas I am not so well connected to easily be able to call up the right folks and drum up interest. Perhaps if fans start a letter writing/tweet campaign to sell the idea to certain folks. Maybe we should come up with a list of good producers to contact rather than worrying about actors to play the part (unless campaigning for them to have their agents press the producers, or produce it themselves). Any brainstorm preferences of who fans should tweet at? Maybe #Vorkosigan and have that be the suggested show title (more flexible than "Miles" or "Barrayar" or similar, as it could reflect any generation of Vorkosigan, in any location)

Faranae For those playing at home, perhaps consider actors with conditions similar to Miles' own (i.e. https://www.imdb.com/list/ls055986081/) I haven't seen much of Atticus Shaffer on-screen rather than as a voice actor, but he's not a bad physical match. :)

Cloudjumper Agreed, Faranae! Atticus Shaffer is a good match physically for a young Miles. The challenge would be capturing Miles' manic personality.

Marti Dolata As Lois Herself has mentioned in other threads, since so much of the humor and explanations of what's happening come from Miles' inner thoughts, the series may not be as adaptable to a visible storytelling medium as you might think.
