I call it coddling...it's done mostly on TV action shows like NCIS, where the actors are given the "...I hAve To sTatE tHe oBviOus BeCauSe The aUdiEnCe Is tO dUMb to gEt iT OtHerWisE..." I am really glad your books don't do this. They sound like normal people talking to each other, like actual conversation you could overhear people saying to each other. As a reader, you never feel like there is anything extra to spell it out, you know just in case we don't get it. Thanks for giving us a little bit of credit.
