Pass on to Ms. Asaro that her dastardly plan worked! My wife and I picked up the anthology ("Irresistible Forces") solely for "Winterfair Gifts." And we now have several other wonderful authors that we follow.
"Winterfair Gifts" vies with "Mountains of Mourning" as my favorite LMB short story. Roic and Taura well deserved their star turn.
Doesn't Ben Aaronovitch deserve mention here too? BTW, many thanks for recommending both him and T Kingfisher. They're both great story tellers with fully rounded characters and wonderful humor.
