Typos are not really important, of course; we can still understand and enjoy the books anyway. However, they become more annoying the more numerous they are—which happens with old books scanned in and not checked well. I reread books that I like, and I sometimes wish I could easily correct typos as I go along, in my own copy of the book, so that they won't bite me on the nose next time. This may actually be possible, with appropriate software and some messing around, but I've never tried: it's not easy enough to seem worth the trouble.

I have an e-book that's missing two whole pages of text, where the person scanning it in obviously turned over two pages at once and no-one noticed.

It's the ebook of Memory - I now have that run of books in electronic form as well as hard copy - and might be an important typo. I'll post it as you suggest

One of the reasons I'm not fond of ebooks. In my own printed books, I make the corrections myself!
