Barack Obama, your response means the world to me! Thank you for writing this book and for inspiring a future generation or world leaders.
So many of us give you THANKS for writing this book. I’m in the middle of it now and enjoying It greatly.
Thanks for all that you do and represent. Your consistent humanitarian perspective, and optimism, are needed. Please stay in the public eye! You are a great symbol of moral strength, and the value of striving for the greater good for all of humanity and our biosphere.
I printed this answer for my daughter, a senior in high school with an interest in politics and social justice. We have been listening to the book together on car rides. Thank you for the inspiration you have provided to so many of us looking for opportunities to bring reflection, intellectual curiosity, and moral considerations into our politics. This is powerful counterprogramming in these very trying times.
Such wisdom to share with our youth. I too believe that this generation is more open to change and more accepting of all people. I have much hope in this generation because they are great kids. They truly want change in our world to make it better for all. I'm a parent to three of them (20, 24 & 26) and as a teacher, I feel that I'm a parent to hundreds more. Thank you, President Obama for the continuous positivity and the reminder that we all need to value and stay grounded within our families.
Can I hit the like button 100 times? We can imagine a better future, but we surely have to work at it.
What was your inspiration for writing this book. I’m a retiree and is caring for my elderly mother who is 91. I’m also a 5 years breast cancer survivor. I find we do not have enough resources for the elderly unless you have Medicaid which she doesn’t qualify. What can be done?
Well, given the time period to respond to your writing, which I like very much, i guess i am not a celebrity hound. I am a writer, a Baha'i, and I would sacrifice my life for justice and oneness. That said, im 86, and having a fine time writing, tripping along with humor and pathos. I am not cavelier about the world's plight. I know there is a plan, and if we don't extinguish ourselves through our moribund ways, a new civilization will come about. The Baha'i writings are full of it and the Hopis do a good job too. I am not writing to pound a pulpit, but this is just our neighborhood now. I want to thank you for the hope you gave us. You are the first politician i truly loved and felt hope for, and of course, Michelle. I don't envy the slimy world you have to experience, but never give up. You are not perfect; such a relief, but i wish you well, unity with your loved ones and protection. Extreme gratitude for your presence and actions in our world. Blessings too. esther
